MyView

@StefanThinks Seeing as how his security people let somebody get close enough for the rumble to be heard ... maybe those 24 members of the National Science Board he fired would do a better job ...

@backupbear Arghhh! No capitals!

@Spoon@aus.social Off to look up peripatetic ...

@treleanor @horachio Yeah ... and disappointed doesn't cover it ...

@DenisCOVIDinfoguy 200 people isn't many ... but I have enough cognitive decline now just from old age :) and that's why I have an appointment shortly for my annual Covid booster ... Hope the crowd isn't too big .. but I have found that wearing a mask makes people keep their distance ;)

@Strandjunker From my view Trump has never ever had a grip on reality ... Once a lying cheating carpetbagger always a lying cheating carpetbagger ...

@feather1952 :) Not just shopping lists any more, which I make all week so nothing gets missed ... any time I have to go anywhere nowadays I make a list of where to go to get whatever ... Somehow still manage to miss something :)

@whitequark@social.treehouse.systems I have looked at thousands of rental properties but "involved in the Novichok event" is one I hope never to come across ...

@treleanor @Tooden @Susan60 They do make it look easy ... but ...

@Tooden @Susan60 @treleanor I remember reading once about how many of the famous paintings were done by the apprentices not the master ... then the master just did the hands ... Forget who ... Michaelangelo?

@cheryanne @treleanor @Susan60 @Tooden That's about two walnuts so no good for me :)

@treleanor @cheryanne @Susan60 @Tooden :) I've gone off peanuts ... don't know why as loved them once upon a time ... absolutely hate peanut butter too now ... don't like that other stuff either ... Nutella. Shudder. Guess tastes change over time ...

@treleanor @Susan60 @Tooden Haven't got my glasses on but that looks about the size of a 50ml medicine measuring thingy ... PS ... would have to refill that many times a day :)

@dharmadan@aus.social @Spoon@aus.social Ahh ... another new word ... could be a daily occurrence ... and they say you never learn any facts on social media ...

@Spoon@aus.social Fine with me ... I like learning new words, and their origin :) Aghh a typo ... fixed it.

@karlauerbach@sfba.social As an older but fairly literate computer user (who has no problem with 2FA) ... I find the major problem with setting up any supposedly more secure method, is the fact the instructions on how to do it are written by expert computer users for other expert computer users ... and they believe everybody else knows or should know as much as they do ... Whereas to non experts it's like trying to understand instructions written in a foreign language ... And I don't like the thought of somebody else, or machine, knowing my entry point ... To me it's like putting my house key under the mat. Edited ... to add the h to with :)

@mattrobertson Remember to check for mowing ... I know somebody who didn't and was heartbroken ... Not me .. I even chase the little blue mothy things :)

@mattrobertson I'm planning to leave a corner that is hard to mow for 'natural' growth for the wee drop tails and bugs to hide ... First have to learn to live with untidiness :)

@Crystal_Fish_Caves @aesthr Be careful ... I yelled at one to 'go away and don't come back' just as a friend was about to knock on my door ... she left ... Took some explaining ...

@maudenificent Not that I know of ... He's just famous for his Groaners ... with me anyway :) As you will be now :)

@maudenificent I love to read them ... just don't tell Dgar :) And I am way up the list of copy and pasters :) And yep ...

@BinChicken@rants.au Meh ... after a quarter century of wiping the Liberal's arse for them ... the Sydney Media Hypocrites once again showing their hypocrisy ...

@decryption@aus.social Yeah ... it's like when people stuck in traffic complain about the traffic :)

@IndyMediaAus@mastodon.social Seeing as how the latest spy session by the CIA has shown that Iran's military and stock of weapons has not been "obliterated" ... could be a lot longer that they all believed ... Unless of course the US can do a 'business deal' with Iran's neighbours ... I read how that Syrian leader has been invited to the White House again ... In the meantime other weapon manufacturers will be making gzillion$ ... wonder if Trump will stick a tariff on those imports ...

@colinpurrington Thanks ... but no thanks :) I haven't seen or heard a mosquito for years ... too dry here I guess ... or they don't like my blood ...

@colinpurrington Not sure that Bti stuff is available in Australia ... but there are others like Envirosafe Mosquito Drops that can be used in the same way ...

@DenisCOVIDinfoguy I wonder if I made an enemy ... 30 Something serving in a shop I regularly attend ... When are you going to stop wearing a mask? Me ... When you start minding your own business ... Bloke behind me laughed. She didn't. Think I better shop elsewhere :)

@feather1952@aus.social Every day in every way I despair for my country ...

@cheryanne@aus.social Another 'celebration' I ignore ... As a child we had to recite some guff and dance around the Maypole to combat the terrible foes of old .. In our case the US paranoia about Reds under the beds ... Cities even held May Day marches ... well, Melbourne did so guess others did too ... Melbourne was so very Olde British in those days ...

@Spoon@aus.social "Alexander the Great; 'You can have anything that is within my power to give you.'" ... As long as it bears his name ... Now who does that remind me of :) History does repeat ... And yeah ... stoicism is more appealing that narcissism ... and we all retain a little cynicism ... ... And while we may live in a metaphorical glass house watched over by Big Brother ... no way would I opt for his attire, eating habits or living quarters :)

@Spoon@aus.social And to add to the confusion, Crapittus may have been a common name back then :) Gonna get worse with AI putting in its two bob worth ...

@Spoon@aus.social :) Any time I am caught talking to myself I just say I'm seeking an expert opinion :) I wondered about the two, Crapittus of Pergamon and Crapittus of Athens as being one because of the wandering ... but who knows ... not even Wiki knows much :)

@Spoon@aus.social Which Cratippus ... seems there was two, an historian and a philosopher ... guessing Cratippus the Peripatetic would be the wandering philosopher ...

@bastardsheep If only politicians could develop the art of thinking ...

@georgepenney@sunny.garden :) That reminds me ... Normally a grazier, an old bloke in Western Victoria sets up a small greenhouse with watering system, raised beds so he doesn't have to bend and starts planting ... Goes into town one day for a few hours and comes home to cop cars surrounding his greenhouse ... and a couple of cops carrying his plants ... He shouts "My tomatoes! Why are you pulling out my tomatoes?" Oops ... somebody should have shown the identifying photos :) Another one ... New face in town goes down the pub for a beer and meet the locals ... Middle aged bloke walks in waving a lunch bag full of some green stuff ... "Okay, crop's ready. Who wants to buy some?" Bloke in corner put his beer down, stands up and says "I'll take the lot" ... Yep, new cop :)

@Strandjunker Well ... seems she is addressing the rumours ... that few media people seem to have heard ... but now wondering :) https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/apr/09/melania-trump-epstein-lies

@trib@aus.social What really got me about that news is that the people objecting to her podcast are the same people who had no concerns for the appearance/invitation to Israeli President, Herzog to speak here ... And Charlie Pickering calling it troublesome is disappointing ...

@molly0xfff@hachyderm.io A good example of why using capital letters is still necessary ...

@whitequark@social.treehouse.systems All yours :)

@tallandtrue@aus.social Yep ... everything is only about the next election ... and fear of losing their seats on fat wallets ... And ever since 1975 Labor is shit scared of being Whitlamed ...

@nileane@nileane.fr I'm no expert in these matters so my solution was simple ... I turned Siri off on my first phone and it's been off since ...

@Cloudslave They won't ... they are incapable of actual thought.

@dangillmor Something something democracy something something blah blah blah ....

@liquidparanoia@aus.social Thanks for that ... living alone one always buy a single this and that ... Will be doing a lot more reading of signs ...

@proedie @backupbear :)

@liquidparanoia@aus.social Me too ... but I sometimes forget to look ... too lazy or too trusting ...

@cyberlyra@hachyderm.io From my view ... the only surprise to me is how few Americans know their government ... or care unless/until the shit hits their own fan ... It's more subtle in Australia ... more in keeping with the U$ tradition of subterfuge ... Keep fighting ...

@trib@aus.social Hiking? Canoeing or swimming I hope ... seeing someone walking on water would scare the bejeezus out of watchers :)

@Strandjunker@mstdn.social I betcha London to a brick the patriot churnalists will be wetting themselves with excitement writing dozens of articles on how Trump Survives Another Assassination Attempt ... for the next week ... month ... year ... decade ...
