I configured bluetooth in Home Assistant and I can't believe how many bluetooth devices there are around me, it's offering to connect me to someone's BBQ gas bottle

The solar estimate I made earlier in the year hasn't been working over winter because it doesn't allow for sun elevation and the angle of my sensor so I used trigonometry and angle of incidence but I can't explain the harbour bridge pylons at dawn and dusk and I'm furious

@decryption@aus.social yeah I know what you mean - I don't have a battery yet but I plan to do that, often I'm out driving when it's sunny so I'd like to be able to top the battery up from the home battery when I get home (or some days there's spiky solar power because of cloud, plug the car in later when the home battery's charged up a bit)

@decryption@aus.social @projectgus@aus.social everything I say about car charging is coloured by the fact I don’t drive a lot most of the time, the only time I’ve used a fast charger was to see how that worked, so I try to use just solar

@NewtonMark my new car was rear ended and I was a bit disappointed when they said they’d fix it and not replace a panel but it looks as good as new, don’t know how they do it
