Still learning…but this is me. Love physical exercise like yoga 🧘🏼‍♀️ pilates or balance 🤸🏼‍♂️plus a bit of pump 🏋🏼‍♀️ but also happy to just walk 🚶‍♀️ I believe we’ve lost our way when it comes to food & am a proponent of J.E.R.F. Just Eat Real Food & very little processed or packaged food. Love my garden, especially when I grow my own produce. Not very good at it, but that’s ok. At 73 life is pretty damned good, healthier than I was 30yrs ago & intend to stay that way for as long as I can. Wiradjuri country.

I’m home after a lovely walk around the river, just 5km but that’s enough for now. Very cold out as it was still only 7c when I left, I ended up nice & warm by the end though. Stopped off in town on my way home to get some cash from the hole in the wall & saw a couple of Rosellas that seem to be making use of another hole in a wall - maybe a nest or just checking it out. Home now & enjoying a hot lemongrass & ginger tea. #RiverWalk #MightyMurray #Wattle #Birds

Good morning tooters. It’s was a very cold frosty 🥶 morning today at -2c with a feels like of -4c & it certainly did feel that cold. Small black 🐀 💼 came & jumped on my bed during the night & curled into my back. Pretty good hot water bottle too. Larger 🐀 💼 stayed curled up in a corner of the lounge. As I’d been told to do when it’s really cold by the homeowner, I left the ducted heating on 16c all night just ticking over, so didn’t feel too cold when I got up at around 5.30am. Just hanging around Chiltern today, might go & have a coffee out & a nice walk, but that’s it. My NZ friend heads down to Melbourne & the airport on the morning train tomorrow & I go home Sunday morning 😊. I’ve been having some big thinks this morning - dangerous I know! I’ve been planning on a new ceiling fan in my bedroom for this coming summer as the old one doesn’t work very well anymore. Instead I’m going to call the local heating/cooling people to come out & give me a quote for a small split system for in there & to check out whether or not my old split system in the lounge needs upgrading or not. I want some information & things in place before the coming summer season hits. Hope everyone has a fabulous #Friday stay nice & warm out there 🌻. #Weather #HouseSit #PetSit #Thinking #Planning

Such a lovely morning & early afternoon. My friend & I ended up taking the longest walk of almost 9km today, wandering around first Wodonga Creek & then the Murray River. Took us about 2hrs all up & even though we carried our umbrellas with us, the rain stayed away. Our feet got pretty wet though, but that’s no big deal. I was feeling it behind the knees by the end, but I’ve pulled up ok since. Then I took a side trip on the way home to my sisters to say goodbye to my niece & her husband until next time. They’d like me to go to Perth to visit them, but it’s an expensive trip. One day maybe. I’ve been home for a few hours just puddling & chilling. Now the rain has come & given us a good soaking. #RiverWalk #Exercise #LoveMyWalks. #Mosstodon

Good morning tooters. Quite a blustery night last night with squally rain when I woke up & the cat wanting to come in. It’s not as if he doesn’t have a pet flap, but hey, why should he use a common pet flap used by the dogs when a human can let him in 🤣. Actually I think the neighbours might also be feeding him, he’s getting quite plump. 8c when I got up, but it definitely felt colder when I opened the door. Only reaching 12c here today too with more rain around.
I have to get moving shortly & take the dogs for their walk while it’s still fairly calm out there. Then I’ll be changing my clothes & going to picked up Miss 7 & Miss 14 from Barnawartha & take them out for the day. I think we will head to Corowa, something different. They like checking out op shops as well & I’ve checked, Corowa has 3. Then we’ll find somewhere for lunch & if the rain does stay away I know Miss 7 would love a playground. That’s a wait and see activity though.
Hope everyone has a great #Friday & you avoid the rain. Stay warm out there 🌻. #Weather #AussieWinter #HouseSit #PetSit #Granddaughters

Good morning tooters. Around 9c when I woke up this morning & it will be the same daily temp of 16c as it’s been for the last two days. Still very grey & overcast with more rain to come this afternoon. I was very glad when that storm finished late last night & I was able to have a last check of the back yard to reassure myself all was good & no water came in under the back garage door. I don’t even think the rain was as fierce nor as fast as those other rain events I’ve had. It did mean I was able to get to go to bed & sleep unstressed. It always feels worse when it’s dark. I had a lovely few hours out in Albury yesterday with my friend, we had coffee at the Myer centre & then went for a wander, window & op shopping. I didn’t buy anything at all except except the coffee. It was just so good to be outside doing something & the rain held off until we got home. I also dropped off half a dozen books to a street library & took 2 out for myself. I love street libraries. The pictures were taken down a laneway towards the Myer complex. I have to pack to head to Chiltern this morning but don’t plan to get there until around lunchtime. It’s just for 4 nights & I will take a couple of my frozen meals & soup with me. That way I don’t need to do much cooking. Wishing you all a lovely #Thursday, stay warm & dry & I do hope for some sun 🌞 for us all today 🌻. #Weather #DayOut #StreetLibrary #HouseSit #PetSit

Had a lovely day out with Miss 7 & Miss 14 granddaughters today. I have only been to Corowa a few times over the 33yrs I’ve lived on the border. So most things were new to me too. Not a big town with around 5,600 population but they also border the even smaller town of Wahgunyah.
We walked the Main Street which is actually Sanger St 😂 & we found all 3 op shops. Miss 7 loves her soft toys & chose a blue swimming turtle, miss 14 found some headphones & I found a lovely jumper. We did visit Dimmys as recommended, not exactly our cup of tea as regards merchandise, although some things were ok, but the building it is in is an old theatre & really has that smell of an old theatre. Even the old drop curtain is still there where the stage once was. I let the girls choose their cafe of choice & unsurprisingly it was the bakery, simple food done well with hot chocolate for them & coffee for me. Then they both chose a sweet treat to take to the park. All in all it was a fun day & the “I love you lots grandma” had me with an awww 🥰🥲 I love you too moment. #DayOut #SchoolHolidays #Granddaughters. #GoodDay

It’s grey, very windy out & starting to get dark, so I’ve done the jobs that need doing. I’ve fed the dogs, the cat & the chooks & have been gifted two eggs 🥚 🥚 for my brekky tomorrow, yum yum. My own dinner is just the soup I brought with me with a slice of cheesy toast, but I’m not at all hungry, I see how I feel in an hour or so.
Time to settle down for the evening & watch some Netflix. #HouseSit #PetSit

Beautiful sunny day today even though I spent it at home. The visit by my daughter & the grandkids was lovely. I now have new slippers & they are so warm & were most definitely needed, plus a lovely citrus smelling candle. Then a phone call from my son who was at work, so I’m glad he remembered.
It seems my sore shoulder wasn’t because I was moving heavy pavers yesterday but from my Covid shot as there is a great big bruise on my upper arm 🤷🏼‍♀️.
I also got my lawns mowed this afternoon & something out there has got to me again as I’ve been sneezing all this evening - a lot 😬. Still, I do love it when everything looks so tidy (kind of) outside. I need to do some spot weeding on the lawn sometime this week though. Plus, my first feijoa has dropped. I haven’t eaten it yet, but it’s a big one, in fact there are a number of large ones on my little tree this year. #Family #Garden #HayFever

Elderly caring
@captainvellalives@lgbtqia.space Sorry you’re having to deal with this Vella. I’ve seen how hard it was when my niece was looking for a place for my brother who also has dementia. It’s very difficult because too many places don’t want to deal with it nor have the staff with enough knowledge to do so.
