FYI, the term egg means a person who hasn't accepted being trans yet. Calling other people eggs usually implies that they are trans (usually almost always binary trans) and in denial of it.
As someone who is non-binary, it doesn't feel good to be called an egg. I have a long painful history of people calling me an egg, insisting that I'm something that I'm not, or insisting that I'm not really sure about what I am.
I'm absolutely 100% confident in my Agender :agender_flag: identity. I don't appreciate when people question my self-identification and plenty of other NonBinary people feel the same way.
Just to be clear, I don't think that they intended to make that implication by using #egg I think that they were just using an applicable tag since it is a drawing of an egg.

Just a point of clarification, when I say that people are calling me an egg and insisting that I'm trans sometimes it's not always clear how.
They're not usually saying that I'm non-binary and under the trans umbrella. They're saying that I'm a trans girl. Often egging of the aggressive nature that I mentioned doesn't acknowledge NonBinary at all.
When it does get brought up to them, the reactions are mixed, and sometimes negative or dismissive (i.e. "Suuuure you're'NonBinary'" or "!remindme 3 years"). Also I have been told point blank not to tell questioning people about non-binary identities because they'll "want to be non-binary cuz they think it's cool" which... Uh... Yeah... 😒

Yeah, the flaw with targeted advertisement is that it very often recommends things based on the things people already bought. Which means, they often don't need those things that they already bought.
I feel like a lot of companies tend to do it, mainly because the logical decision-making processes that would lead individual people to see how this isn't working, are suppressed in the corporate world. As well as just not expressed, because the people whose job it would be to express those concerns benefit from doing things in a dysfunctional way. They may not have a job if the company was more functional.

Yesterday someone harassed me with images of my sona dressed fem, as if it would be embarrassing to me. I don't personally care, but I do want to say that harassment towards others, no matter the reason is NOT okay.
Harassment is unacceptable. We all have disagreements about things and we need to work them out constructively or use the Mute or Block button instead. I shouldn't even have to say this.

Absolutely, people need to be treated in a way that makes them feel safe in order for them to open up and explore gender, or be willing to accept themselves if they have internalized transphobia.
I agree that non-binary definitely fits under the umbrella of trans, I do know that not all non-binary people identify as transgender and they're valid too.

I don't think many people on the right use Linux or care about open source. There's a small handful, I remember one guy on YouTube who was. Vast majority though don't care at all.

That's why I'm thinking that they probably didn't intend for it to have another meaning. And if they did, they probably didn't really understand the secondary meaning of 'egg' as queer lingo.

I agree, knowledge should be shared as much as possible. I try my best to share as much as I can with others. Unfortunately it can be difficult because humans don't really like it when others share knowledge. I know that's insane for a race that claims to pride itself on intelligence.

@Endiverge@floofy.tech I have lots of digitized media. Interactive programs (both video games and, experiences that might be considered less traditional games). A lot of digitized books and I mean a lot.
I do also own a lot of vintage hardware, though I do also use a decent amount of software emulation.
If anyone is a Mastodon admin could you tell me if warnings from other servers federate? Or is it useless to give a remote user a warning as a moderation action?
Just curious because Lemmy's Developers are considering making warnings in #Lemmy 1.0 federate and it might be good to have it be able to federate with Mastodon if that's possible.
Additionally if you have in-depth technical knowledge of how this works, feel free to share it here in the github issue.

I stopped using it though a while ago because it just kind of sucks, both at old version support and with Modding support. MultiMC and it's forks are so much better.
