Got kicked off Medicaid at the start of the month, because I was making too much money. Oh well, that's kind of a good thing, because it means I can get insurance through the Marketplace. The alternative was getting kicked off because I wasn't working, which would have meant I could NOT get insurance through the Marketplace.
The new plan is one of the best I've ever had (other than Medicaid, which was free and paid for EVERYTHING). No deductible! No copay for my PCP! $10 to see a specialist, $5 for urgent care! No referrals required! Only $2,200 out-of-pocket maximum! And all the medication I take is free! And dental and vision coverage! All for about $95 per month out of pocket.
It's like there's a party in my mouth but nobody showed up.
How to tell that the writers of a show have never actually played the game they are depicting.
My foot is feeling much better today. The past three days it's been difficult to walk, though I've (probably stupidly) pushed through and did at least part of my usual walkies anyway. Today I was able to mow the lawn with the push mower, which requires not only a lot of walking (over 3,500 steps, or about 1½ miles), but also involves walking over uneven terrain.
Yesterday I could barely walk halfway across the pasture to pet the horse due to the rough ground, but today I was able to walk to the far back fence to uproot a couple young hemlock plants that were trying to sneak in.
This evening my foot looks only a bit pink and no longer feels unusually warm.
I've been applying comfrey salve and I think maybe it's helped?

Sometimes a goat can be almost as fluffy as a sheep.
But at least goats cashmere just falls off on its own (eventually). No need for shearing (which is why we have goats now instead of sheep).

@Draconic_NEO Yes, and there are hairy breeds of sheep that don't require shearing.
I think a pygmy goat's cashmere is softer than sheep's wool, and we used to have Southdown sheep. Less greasy, too.
Cookie is such a silly goat, and she's getting so needy lately. She used to be very skittish when she was young, but now she loves attention.

@gilesgoat@toot.wales Another thing that absolutely should be available in your area are peanuts in the shell. They are low in sugar and starch, and most horses love them. Feed them shell and all.
You might want to ask your vet first, just to be on the safe side. But I give them to my mini horse and my goats. I buy them in 5 pound (2.25 kg) bags at Sam's Club.
Is it me, or is my foot getting worse?

Nothing like being woken up at 1 o'clock in the blessed AM because the cops are here and they would like to see the surveillance camera footage of the fight between my mentally unstable roommate and my other roommate's visitor.
I've seen websites before that would display fake virus warning popups, but those are usually connected to a specific site and you can get rid of them by killing the browser process.
But today I found a fun new wrinkle on it, abusing notifications in Chrome. This allows the popups to persist even after killing the browser and even rebooting.
This article put me on the right track to solve a similar issue for one of our users.
I'm kind of mad this morning. I bought a whole bunch of really yummy looking cheese and never even had the chance to eat any of it before I woke up.
YES! They FINALLY added one of the items I've wanted most from American Truck Simulator, Tow to Road. If you get stuck, like you have run into a ditch and can't get out, or you took a turn too fast and overturned, instead of only having the option of being towed all the way back to the nearest garage, the toe truck can now move you to the nearest safe location on the roadway. This will make the game so much better, especially the insane way that I play.
Sticking this here for myself so I can remember the different heart -tropies. I can always remember what inotropic and chronotropic are, but the others I get mixed up.

@gilesgoat@toot.wales And I give the animals the peanuts still in the shell, which some people think is weird. But the shell is just fiber, it's not much different from the other things they eat. The goats in particular love the shells, because I buy the salted kind. Whenever I eat peanuts I save the shells for the goats.

Sheep and goat poo is a bit stinky when it's fresh, but the smell fades very quickly, like within minutes.
Today is going to suck.
I have to work today, I have no PTO, and this job doesn't let me take a nap.
I was in the top... umm... zero percent of Nebraska homes last month, with a savings of... 100%. :blobfoxgoogly:
