Der Ölriese Total Energys hatte vor 3 Jahren die größten Offshore-Windparkflächen ersteigert, nur einen Bruchteil bezahlt, nichts gemacht, steigt jetzt aus und will noch Geld zurück.

Einige hatten ja schon ganz zu Anfang vermutet, dass das reine Blockade-Aktion war um Zeit & Gewinn zu schinden. Der Ausstieg jetzt bestärkt natürlich solche Vermutungen.

Die können vielleicht aber auch nur fürchterlich böse Nachrede der armen Total gegenüber sein, selbstverständlich.

Even higher computer prices (compounded by AI craze). less sulphuric acid = less fertiliser (see above), plus less basic chemistry (less industry production)

@guenther@chaos.social oder auch: der Graubart hat seit/vor Jahrzehnten die Erfahrung gemacht dass die DNS-Caches vieler Provider aus deren Sicht zu kurze TTLs überschreiben, und daher seine Vorgaben wie auch Sorgfalt der Realität angepasst.

@Tyldurden @kuketzblog Googles Suchergebnisse und -funktionen lassen in den letzten Jahren aber auch immer mehr nach. Leider sind die meisten alternativen Suchmaschinen nicht viel mehr als Frontends für Google oder (vor allem) Bing (naja - und Baidu). Eigene Spider hat sonst kaum jemand.

Also: fehlender Netzausbau, meist NIMBY-induziert Durch starken Lobby-Einfluss Förderung von Erdgas und fossilen Brennstoffen, statt von Erneuerbaren. Angst vor Veränderung ("Hat ja bisher funktioniert."), denn wenn wer was anschiebt könnte dann ja Schuld haben.

(A backup that is not regularly tested for successful restore is no backup). The person wielding the software (automation, shell prompts, admin-ui, agentic timebombs) is the one responsible - not the software (unless trojanised). Running agentic LLMs with admin privileges is just reckless yoloing, esp in prod.

@poppyhaze@girlcock.club Nope, huge differences. The Molli usually has the wick outside, the garden torch inside. And while the latter runs almost exclusively on petrol(eum) / vegetable oil, the former is filler with gasoline/benzine and possibly a minor percentage of latex dissolved in it. So stay safe, know the difference and only use oil with an internal wick for your torch project.

Each new quantum is a newly setup physics experiment - never thought of that, but makes total sense. What he missed: entanglement of qbits scales with roughly O( 1/n² ) due to fullmesh scaling alone. Plus while creating an entangled pair of quantums is a standard experiment, entanglement of more than 2 quantums are AFAIK unheard of (and IIRC theoretically impossible).

All recognised epistles are part of the New Testament. Within liturgy "epistle" is the part where a part from an epistle (as above) is read out to the attendees of the mass. An encyclical is a formal letter of advice from the Pope of the Catholic Church to all catholics (addressed to the bishops for redistribution).

@dergrobi The .DE zone continues to be _resolving_ without hickup. It's its DNSSEC failing. If you (can) temporarily switch off DNSSEC verification on your DNS server (resolver, not just forwarder) then everything will work again.
