You probably know about M-x dired, the directory editor. But do you know about M-x proced, the process editor?

@paniash@mstdn.social vanilla, I nuked many of my custom keybindings a whole ago(before that I used to use evil.) I have a personal rule that if a keybinding already exists, I will only use that keybinding and not rebind it.

@ablatedsprocket@hachyderm.io @minad@mastodon.world I read the thread a while ago. I don't think the issue is that any of the gnu elpa packages depend on "melpa", I don't think they do, just that some gnu elpa packages (which are part of GNU Emacs (not the standard distribution)) depend on packages from nongnu elpa (which are also free software but not part of GNU Emacs.).

Replying to
@pkal@social.sdfeu.org I wouldn't say disagreements more like miscommunication, @divyaranjan@mathstodon.xyz and @minad@mastodon.world thought Eli wanted a full drawing API from Elisp, so they were trying to work on that. Recently Eli said they don't want that, and Minad proposed a "memimage" with just basic things required. (AFAIR of course).
