This is a bit of a long shot, but I'm looking for a collaborator to build something together. (It's just a hobby project that will NEVER be commercialized or monetized. I'm a jobless programmer and I just need to code shit.)
What: Some kind of p2p ActivityPub software.

- HTTP gateway for server-to-server federation (unfortunate but necessary)
- Nodes are ~~clients~~ (actually servers? idk...)
- All of them join in a gossip swarm
- CRDT to sync state
- Identity is just ed25519 key, so you could share the same identity across multiple nodes that you control
- WebFinger unfortunately requires centralization - from what I understand, "petnames" avoid this problem: https://files.spritely.institute/papers/petnames.html

@silverpill@mitra.social That may be necessary but not sufficient. HTTP is still the only common denominator, especially with many FEPs requiring a dereferencable HTTP URL? I don't see how any AP implementation that doesn't have a HTTP gateway could be generally useful, at least for interacting with the Fediverse at large...
