I think the main thing is, we need to make sure that being an asshole is never considered cool or edgy ever again.
Big American Tech Companies are absolutely not planning for the unprecedented global energy recession we are about to experience. All the expensive data centering will result in higher token prices which means every product using LLM will be instantly unprofitable and require either removal or to be shut down. This is happening in the next 3-6 months. Mark my words. Sora just the first of many.
Ah Spring, just in time for me to receive sunshine on my solar panels so I can be insulated somewhat from the energy shocks afflicting us due to this completely illegal and ill-advised war of no avail.

For example, Apple MacOS used to be a pleasure. It wasn’t perfect but it wasn’t an eyesore, and the designers paid attention to UX. Now that’s in shambles and I can’t even retreat to my laptop without being reminded of the constant enshittification of everything.
Trump’s dissembling on his exit strategy in Iran makes George W. Bush’s premature “Mission Accomplished” in Iraq banner look downright apropos.

This stuff about producing all the oil we need in the US makes no sense. We sell oil on the global market. The market has less supply of oil. Oil price go up. It’s that simple.
If you’re in the PNW, you should probably start clearing the area around your house of any kind of flammable material. It’s going to be a crazy fire season. I moved here three years ago, to escape the fires of Northern California which decimated communities. Trees and shrubs are a real liability if they are close to your home. The houses that survive are ones without any landscaping touching or even within six feet of the structure. You probably want to stock up on air purifiers and filters now, too.
