Any Canadian urban planning nerds know why perimeter blocks are non-existent in Canada? I assume they're against zoning bylaws across the country, but has there been any experiments in building them?
They solve so many problems, I don't understand why they are not the default form here.

On June 21 1991 I arrived in Toronto a month ahead of the rest of my family to start working and find a place to live. I handed my permanent resident papers to an immigration officer who looked over them carefully, asked me a couple of questions, and then held out his hand and said "Welcome to Canada".
If you are in Alberta please join me in acting now to protect our country.
