“Do not bite your coworkers” okay but what if it’s a particularly horrendous pull request

my 13 years at bandcamp are coming to an end - i’ve been laid off along with most of the remaining engineers. best job i’ve ever had, working with the best people you could ever work with. unceremonious end to quite a ride.

Had a dream where I squeezed my phone so hard I squished and broke the screen. I took it to get repaired, and when I went to pick it up I had to rebuild the phone from scratch.
Inside a server chasis.
Eventually the employee told me I had run out of time and I had to go back to using my old phone.

Unemployment is driving me crazy. Would folks be interested in watching me play games or coding or something on a stream?
Or maybe I spend some time setting up Matrix again, or properly learning how to moderate irc and making my own... server? libera room? (Likely not on a stream)
Maybe the being bored is finally working and giving me more ideas.

Quick fedi, what's the weirdest use case for a bunch of idle dedicated server compute.

Goal is to go down to one machine but I can't bring myself to do that right now.
Lotta work to move things from HA/clustered/quorum setups.
Has anyone used iVentoy? Is it a good option for netbooting stuff?
#duckduckfedi - any folks have recommendations for USB power supplies? Preferably with multiple ports, fancy features like screens for viewing power usage optional. Need to get something to power some fans, my HomeAssistant Pi, PiKVM, and a few other bits. Current one seems to be struggling (HomeAssistant reporting a lot of undervoltage :( )

@anthropy@mastodon.derg.nz I appreciate the offer, I'll have to think about it. I was really hoping the plug-in systems would become available soon but it's really dragging out.
We do have a system on the roof of our current place, but it's only 3 panels and they peak at ~750W (from what I've seen anyways). So they do a ton but we also have no battery backup and the energy tariff we're on doesn't let us sell back to the grid.
*heavy sigh *
Back in the UK yaaaaaaaaay
Lmao is the Red Hat Summit in Atlanta next?
Which furries are staying for that XD
If anyone wants to say hi, I’m running visuals in Salon for Little Alpha Pup and in Atrium for CK9C today! :3

@anthropy@mastodon.derg.nz it's tricky. we rent, and we also plan to move soon. but being made redundant from my job has thrown a massive wrench into our plans. we're kind of stuck. and also not really able to invest in anything.
First person to say hi to me gets a shot of Malört!
Where’d everyone go.
Kinda neat seeing Waymos driving around Atlanta.
Ah yes. We have breeze and thus the area must smell like poop. >.>

Anyways nobody should have to deal with netbooting Windows.
