OH: "the irony that we paid for ringtones... now i would throw my phone out a window if it made a noise. "
"What the fuck do you want now, Two-Legs?"
Just heard brain fog being described as "the happenin' is not happenin'"
I have to update my bio to say "working at the intersection of and " since it seems to be the thing to do. People working at all the intersections these days.
Working at the intersection of software and another software.
Cranky. Taking a 2-hour lunch break.

@nina_kali_nina@tech.lgbt Nice. Fresh peas are just amazing, when I grew them most of them went straight into my face from the plant.
Movies. TV series. If I could grep them all, I would instantly filter out anything that included the phrase "you are going to be ok". Because you are in no fucking way going to be "ok".
@welshpixie@mastodon.art I suddenly have a commish idea. Know you are busy on the book so gimme a shout when you have space. Three word sentence, bit fancy, colours and maybe a bit of gilt. For framing.

Kessler Syndrome for the internet takes a giant leap closer. I think I will be setting up that gopher server after all.

Nice! We had a competition in university to see who could make a specific simulator in the smallest number of NANDs. The record was 40, I got to 42. Someone else got to 41, won a bottle of whiskey.
Quoting
The Nand Game!
You are going to build a computer starting from basic components.
The game consists of a series of levels. In each level, you are tasked with building a component that behaves according to a specification. This component can then be used as a building block in the next level.

Barring global chaos and the end of oil, I'm going to be visiting Toronto for a week or so in July. What's the place like?

Managed most of my #SelfHosting goals for April except for important ones like eg BorgBackup :D
Too much work means I have to get away from the pooter for a bit, and my NAS suffers 😩

@StaceyCornelius@zeroes.ca @yuman@defcon.social I've updated a dozen or so 2011-2013 macbook pros with an SSD, a new battery and linux and they are absolute fine machines for that (but noticeably heavier than modern laptops 😀)

@piebob@metasocial.com Yep - and by the magic of "budgets" I can probably do two of those things 😀

@phire Museums, breweries, pastry shops with good coffee. Outdoor bars, places to walk with green stuff around. Comedy gigs, delicious restaurants. Art galleries, rock shops, dive bars, bbq venues. Markets, stores with weird things, stupendous breakfasts. Book shops and comic shops. Parks.
Unsure if I will make it out of town, since there's plenty to cover 😀

@yuman@defcon.social SSDs are at their highest price point ever now, most likely making this too costly, I updated these old ones to give away to people who wanted a computer but had no means to buy one. Of course for self it would be a different story 😀
Hate seeing actually useful machines going to waste!
Unsure as to spend a money on:
- resin/silver jewellery classes
- new router for woodwork
- FDM printer
- shingles vaccination
