So,
(a) of fucking course openAI's LLM did not just decide to go off and hack websites, the company spends 48% of revenue on marketing, this is nothing more than a stunt; but
(b) hacking someone's company is actually a crime in a lot of jurisdictions and if you hit someone with your car, we don't put the car in jail, so would someone sue these twats please? This is getting embarrassingly dumb.

Me: Yeah, I'm getting the hang of this #woodworking lark, no worries, feeling good about that...
Also Me: Wait, what the fuck, it doesn't just dangle down getting in the way all the time?
For the avoidance of doubt, halfway up a tree in the Glen of the downs is a terrible time to not be sure if you have a spare pencil lead or not.
(I did, but it was hiding)
Every so often it's nice when you have something in your head and you can kinda get it half-way out of your head and onto paper.
We need a big steel bar in front of every level crossing so when some fuckwit thinks he's special and his van will fit and the signs just mean you have to do boring reading, said fuckwit experiences a sudden stop twenty feet shy of the crossing as his van gets torn open like a giant can opener took issue with him personally.
- Don't fucking assume my time is worth so little that I will now spend hours going through that PR comment, fixing anything that should be and writing up why we're holding off until after Hello World before tackling other stuff on a docker image that won't ever see production anyway.
- Don't fucking assume I'm so worthless that you can just do this and I'll eat the shit sandwich and smile and ask for more.
- Don't fucking expect me or anyone else you do this to to be around forever.
I don't care it it's fake, this was the best laugh of the day so far.
@BrianJopek@mastodon.world
Can't even get away from phishing on mastodon now it seems...
Look, all I'm saying is, try cocaine.
It's cheaper, it's easier, it fucks you up the same way and you'll move a lot faster when coding and make about as many mistakes as with LLM tooling, but you'll enjoy it more.
I swear to fuck, #IrishRail would have the dalai lama strangling people from the stress of trying to get home on public transport.
And you scuttering gobshites aren't helping. Don't drive your truck into 600 volt powerlines. Don't lean your bike against the sign banning bikes on the train. Don't leave your fecking backpack on your back when you decide not to wait for people to get off the train before you shove your way on you fecking disgrace.
IT'S NOT THAT FUCKING DIFFICULT.
Every person who's ever read Junior Cert history or higher right now:
It says something when you have to create a new emoji to discuss how people vote...
They made Violent Night 2.
I am concerned. There may not be enough beer and popcorn.
...and my favorite shirt maker is no longer shipping shirts out of the UK at all. Feck's sakes.
Jesus Reuters, could we not with the "Not Now Nazis, we're busy!" headlines? :D
2 hours 40 minutes from my desk to my door, which is a 40 minute drive.
Fuck public transport. Fuck #IrishRail. Pave the whole fucking county over and make it one big road for private cars with only one occupant allowed by law. Fuck public services that think it's only inconvenient for hundreds of people to lost hours of their lives to this incompetent bullshit *every fucking week*.
OpenAI had $38bn in losses in 2025.
THIRTY-EIGHT BILLION DOLLARS. IN NET LOSSES.
And even that looks massaged.
The 2024 losses of five billion dollars were eyewatering - this is fucking obscene.
How much damage is this #ai bubble going to cause? There's no way these tools are usable once this has to be paid for. They're losing up to $14,000 on $200/month subscriptions ffs!
> I don't think we can build a policy on top of the ethical issues, though.
Well, fuck you too Rust.

There's nothing quite like watching the Minister for Justice hold forth on a point of the law that you are very very well acquainted with, on account of having helped to write it, and seeing how he's very forthrightly declaring many things are true, which you happen to be very aware are absolutely not, and that he's making a complete show of himself.

(For context, yes of fecking course the Gardai can seize your firearm if they think you're a looper 🤦 )
WTF - why does the pagerduty app use the normal phone ringtone as a "hey, a small configuration change just happened" notification sound? Like fuck off you overbearing little collection of dross bits, you didn't have permission to do that!
Dunno why I was so worried about that college coursework, I had a whole 11 minutes left when it got submitted...
I haven't seen a single #IrishRail train run on time so far this month. Joke of a transport system and we wonder why there's only an increase in the number of cars.
RE: @dublininquirer@mastodon.ie
This is a very roundabout way to get that whitewater rafting center built.
Tell me you're a fragile narcissist without using those exact words even though everyone else is thinking them.
Day 462 of Calum being amazed by modern developments in paleontology:

(In fairness, that is bloody interesting)
I guess once they've gotten to 14 or 15 years old and still think of nothing but dinosaurs, it's time to start looking more into Earth Sciences and paleontology in UCD, huh?
FFS. We don't need another holiday inn and we aren't exactly flush with airfields.
lol rofl, a second "treaty" at Versailles, because holy shit are this lot slow learners.
"...the CRASH Clock, which is currently below three days (Thiele et al. 2026)11. The CRASH Clock is an
environmental metric that asks what is the timescale for conjunctions to occur that could lead to a collision if all forms of satellite
management were to stop. There is already little time to react to a widespread failure of a large system, and ODCs of tens of
thousands to one million satellites could give essentially no possibility of having a usable reaction time."

Today I heard an executive say "Imagine if software could care about you" and the only thing I could think of in response was from Robin Williams.
