F-Droid should add "developed using LLMs" in the list of anti-features.

if you believe AI vendors, absolutely! here, Anthropic generated a C compiler:
https://github.com/anthropics/claudes-c-compiler
who cares that it's buggy, incomplete, and 100 times slower? it's yours*!

i first pgdump the DB on the local FS and then send it to backblaze with restic. i can't say if it's a better or even a good solution, though, i'm not a real devops 👀

i tried looking for a new job in IT. software engineering is dead, as well as security, infra, and anything else. all job postings are for AI operators instead.

measuring environmental damage in dollars is part of the problem. it's not about money, it's about survival.

i'm also curious what new hell they invented. i have DJI Tello and i can fully control it with Go code (using gobot), including access to the camera (with a bit of ffmpeg piping), without any apps.

a smart TV botnet clicking on ads on AI-generated websites. throw in cryptocurrencies and that will be my highlight of the year.

New, by me: Read This Before You Buy That TV Streaming Stick
Security experts have been sounding the alarm for years about the risks of using generic TV boxes that promise unlimited content streaming for a one-time fee, warning that they secretly rent the user's Internet connection out to strangers. But a groundbreaking new analysis finds these devices also routinely spoof themselves as mobile phones clicking ads on AI-generated websites as part of sprawling operation that seeks to defraud online merchants and advertising networks.

the correct text (from the website):
There are many very nice places for a cat to relax. Of those places, Marley (Oxfordshire, UK) has chosen to lay on top of a hiking boot, awkwardly. The going theory is that it makes him feel adventurous.

You're absolutely right, I see the issue now. There is no reliable way to tell if something is written by an AI since many people use a similar writing style.
Would you like me to provide you a list of AI detectors?

just imagine ads like:
- token enlargement pills
- singles in your datacenter
- GPU from Nigerian billionaire
- get rich fast with our dataset
- leaks of private code from celebrities
- donate to the victims of war against robots.txt

idk if you've read server rules when joining but if you're using Mastodon, you are legally required to post photos of your pets. if you don't have any, you are required to boost at least 5 per day.

somehow it's not enough for people to use LLMs, they feel like they have to tell everyone about it.
