Conclusive proof that the Fediverse has been monitoring not just what I say, but what I think, and then uses that to shape the content it feeds me. I was thinking about “big endian” JUST YESTERDAY, and here we are.
An excellent application of intrusive surveillance to shape my feed towards topics that will be more to my interest.
Thank you, John Mastodon, I love you.

As a bird person, this insurance ad really annoys me.
In the TV version, the little bird's nest is washed away, and the big bird turns up to rescue the little bird and its egg and carry them to a new nest.
My problem is - that's a raptor! Look at that beak! It's made for tearing flesh. The little bird and its egg? Just more protein!
Maybe flesh-eating-predator-pretending-to-be-friendly is actually a good representation of an insurance company...

‘ Decades of research in developmental psychology have shown that moral reasoning develops through consequences—not punishment, necessarily, but experiencing the effects of your actions on others, receiving honest feedback, having to accommodate reality as it actually is rather than as you wish it to be.’
Accountability may be uncomfortable at times, but ultimately it makes us better, and I'm also convinced happier, people.
Hey everyone! I found the words of the prophet!

The sequel to “Snakes on a Plane”…
What does Trump think “Thank you for your attention to this matter” means? Did he hear it somewhere and think “Ooh, that sounds grown-up!”?
It’s sounds like something you might use to close-off a “To whom it concerns” letter.
Basic humanity, and yet beautiful to see.
Interesting report on Formosan gem-faced civets (白鼻心 /Paguma larvata taivana)increasingly being found in Taipei. The report mentions sightings in the Da’an, Wenshan and Beitou Districts. We’ve also seen reports elsewhere of sightings in National Taiwan University campus.
On the list to try to spot one…

Boosting for 抓餅 and the riotous, colourful chaos of a decent night market!!!
‘ The rise of fascism in the United States, the abandonment of [their] alliances, and the corruption and incompetence of the Trump regime have fundamentally altered the way the rest of the world sees [them].’

Pretty high on the list of “Jobs that won’t be replaced by AI”…
Fascinating to see them binding the pieces of stone together by pouring in molten metal reinforcing.
