Despite her valiant efforts, Abigail (Bristol, UK) did not manage to chomp her way into a tin can of cat food. She had to wait until someone with thumbs fed her at the normal time.

Augustus (Saskatchewan, Canada) had an ear infection. The required treatment is ear drops twice daily and ear cleaning with soap every 2-3 days. Ear drops are great, says Augustus, enjoying his ear massage. He could not be reached for comment after the ear cleaning, as he was busy hiding under the couch.

There are many ways to sleep, and cats are known to try all of them. Minty (Washington State, USA) has been trying to sleep like a pretzel, with two big loops made of her legs and tail.

Callisto (PACA, France) saw her humans go out at the weekend, and then come back a bit later. She was super excited to see them and came running up happily. To her continuing confusion though, this didn't mean it was dinner time. Coming home should definitely mean food time.

Cat News has received a very good update, letting us know that Spike (PEI, Canada) is very happy. We are all very happy to hear that Spike is happy, he's earned it.

Incredible as it may be, Cat News has now been running for four years. In that time we have drawn hundreds of cat pictures. Our heart-felt gratitude goes out to everyone who enjoys seeing them, and writes in to let us know what the cats in your lives are doing. If its big news for a cat, then its big news for us. Every one reminds us to appreciate time with our cat CEO Pippin, and not spend too much time staring at our screens. The internet belongs to cats, but I know they would rather we didn't spend all our time there.

Shawshank (California, USA), during one of his summer outdoor lounges, has been adopted by a stray kitten that looks just like him. Shawshank shoved open the screen door so the kitten could drink small unit's water. Small Unit was extremely mad about this and hissed at the stray kitten, but Shawshank and the stray ignored her.

Vidarr (Nagoya, Japan) likes to pretend he's a big tough boy by fighting his human's hand, but really he just wants to give it a hug. With teeth.

Excellent news! Earl (Oxfordshire, UK) is not a dog, but he is very proud to have caught a stick and brought it to his human. He does not play fetch though.

Jennie entered her foster home (California, USA) with her two sisters, took a look around, and told her foster mom she’s home. Adopted. Welcome to the family, Jennie!

After considerable effort, Katie (Dublin, Ireland) has mostly managed to force her way into her human's handbag. There is still at least one leg still sticking out, but she is mostly in there. She is ready to start her life as a handbag cat.

Despite the weather, Janey (Manitoba, Canada) has been rolling around while playing and has managed to wrap herself up in a blanket. She doesn't care, she isn't hot, she is cosy.

Hector (Essex, UK) likes to sit with his human when they are reading. Occasionally though, parts of his body, mostly his tail, end up on the pages though. So he ends up being a bookmark for a while, until he moves and the human can pick up when they left off.

After being outside, Rom (Cambridgeshire, UK) returned to the house with a little flower hat on his head. It was very adorable, and a bit of a mystery until it was revealed his second human had put it there. Luckily he didn't seem to mind.

Gun-mo (Seoul, South Korea) had been looking like the heat might be getting to him. His human tested this by holding an iced americano next to him to see if he wanted something cool to press against him and help. He did not like that at all.

Reports are that Dennis (Greater Manchester, UK) has started making very happy noises whenever his human is walking towards the food bowl. He is a very optimistic cat.
Pippin (BC, Canada) has somehow managed to make a friend, or rather a frenemy out of a local robin. Everyday for the last week its been flying back and forth, hitting the window with its wings until he comes to look, so it can tease him. Pippin loves it.
Ever generous, Marnie (New South Wales, Australia) has very sweetly been adding her fur to her human's pyjamas. They are always nicely coated before bedtime.
Teddy (Canada) decides to help out his tired human, so they may rest from their crochet. His genius plan is to plop his fluffy butt on their keyboard so they may no longer access the pattern and attack any attempts from the hands to touch the computer, for extra efficiency he also snacks on their delicious yarn and steals their crochet hook. Truly an inspiration to cats everywhere
Cat News has received credible reports from Toby (Florida, USA) that the humans have all been very excited about a big bright thing in the sky. He saw it himself, he watched it through the screen door from the back of the blue cloth couch.
Crunchy (Czechia) always comes to humans’ front door. She wants food, but she doesn’t want humans to look at her. Crunchy would like to be invisible.
Late in the evening, three cats reported a disturbance on or in the living room wall. Hazel, Cecil, and Cat Sagan (greater Boston area, USA) kept the scene under keen observation. Early reports hinted that it might be a rodent in the wall, or perhaps Hazel, captain of the glimmer-guard, had noticed light glinting off her human's watch and her brothers had joined in her chase. Our latest update: It was a moth. Cecil has eaten it.

A calico cat -
stares intently at the ground. -
What have you found there?
Warm spring weather means that Bonnie (West Sussex, UK) can play one of her favourite games again. Lie down in one of your hidey-holes in the garden. Your human lies down facing you. When ready, charge straight at your human, swerving at the last minute to miss them by the narrowest possible margin. You may bat them with a paw or a tail as you go past. Your human should not flinch.
It rained, and Small Unit (California, USA) saw a worm moving on the patio's wet concrete. Her entire mental model of the world shattered, and she circled it like a lion while meowing very loudly for some time.
Jade (Ontario, Canada) is out exploring again! She hasn't gone this far out since Onyx passed. She's so brave and only got scared ONCE!!!
Pippin (BC, Canada) does not know what all the fuss over him sitting on the remote is about. Sure, the movie jumped back to the start, but the humans should be paying attention to him anyway, not some silly film.
The tables have turned and now Hector (Essex, UK) is deciding who can go out and when. He has taken charge of the house keys and doesn't seem like he wants to give them up any time soon.
Repairs were underway, and the human clearly needed a technical mind to help. Smokey (Berkshire, UK) was luckily at hand to lend a paw.
Dahlia (AKA, Dolly) (the Sea) is a very lucky cat. She was adrift in a sail boat off Cozmel, Mexico when a sharp eyed lookout spotted their flares at night. She and her human were rescued by the heroic crew of the Carnival Cruise Ship "Legend". The crew turned out a special welcome for her and she is doing well. BRAVO ZULU!
After being outside, Rom (Cambridgeshire, UK) returned to the house with a little flower hat on his head. It was very adorable, and a bit of a mystery until it was revealed his second human had put it there. Luckily he didn't seem to mind.

The humans were taking a poll on some possible changes to the house, and of course, they wanted to know Voltaire's (Saskatchewan, Canada) opinion too. It seems that not only does he not have an opinion, he also possibly doesn't have a single thought in his head right now either.
Xena (Canada) is helping with the filing, and she knows her human is very grateful for her diligent assistance.
While fighting enemies in D&D, TC (Buckinghamshire, UK) joined the line of action by sitting on the chair near his humans and helped fight for glory.
Nira (Québec, Canada) has been getting underfoot in the kitchen. She can smell bacon, so it is pretty clear to her that this is the room she needs to be in... just in case.

Rigel (Ontario, Canada) often complains quite loudly about his day to day issues, but lately he has started being somewhat more formal. He was extremely polite (but firm) about asking his human to rescue a snack from his snack ball that had found its way under the cabinet.

News from Roxy (Brussels, Belgium)! She has succeeded in knocking over a shampoo bottle at exactly the right angle to make the lid pop off. She has given the bathtub a very thorough clean as a result.
