@aktbar@mastodon.social @leadore@sunny.garden @paparatti@phire.place Probably this:

@budududuroiu @mirth @jenniferplusplus "The plague is here. Let's just live with it" does seem to be a recurring sentiment, but it doesn't change that it's a plague.

@matroskin @golgaloth The USSR was an authoritarian dictatorship dressed up with a nicer-sounding name.

@budududuroiu @mirth @jenniferplusplus Making bug fixing more difficult because legitimate reports get blocked alongside the noise.

@budududuroiu @mirth @jenniferplusplus What we had just a few years ago.

@budududuroiu @mirth @jenniferplusplus Goal post moved into a different dimension, I see.

@projektionsyta Birds of a feather being fascist together...

@eniko@mastodon.gamedev.place What does the &noai parameter do? (Other than that, it's identical to what I added a few days ago.)

@Njord@zeroes.ca @eniko@mastodon.gamedev.place The cats are one of my core memories of Cyprus from back in the 90s.

@mirth @budududuroiu @jenniferplusplus Tell that to all the open source repo maintainers who get spammed with fake, nonsensical bug reports generated by AI?

@winterwolves But on the other hand, Steam banned Horses, even after the "questionable" content had been removed from the game.

@matroskin @golgaloth Given that socialism and dictatorship are philosophically incompatible, the question would be "are there any examples of actually socialist countries?" Given the the US's long history of violent intervention when attempts have been made, I'm not sure if there are. We've just had democratic socialists and social democrats forced to work within capitalism while trying to lessen its harms.

@eniko@mastodon.gamedev.place Oh well. I suppose adding it couldn't hurt, at least...

@Jonly @winterwolves There's only one release of the game, as I understand it, and Steam banned the game largely on account of content that only existed in an outdated alpha version.

@Carnivius @repeatro Yeah, I got my SNES bundled with Donkey Kong Country, but that ended up being the only game of its kind (pre-rendered 3D assets) I got for the console. Aside from Flashback with its rotoscoped sprites, the rest of my SNES games had traditionally drawn 2D art, and I think they've mostly aged better than the DKC trilogy.

@andrewstroehlein@mastodon.social Person C: Before it became X. When the sale to one of the worst people in the world had just been confirmed.

@Lana @joshmillard Are they wearing dungarees and roller blades?

@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social Now I had to look up the name Madison, and I guess it originated from "Maud's son"? Still a nice girl's name.

@DotMaetrix@chitter.xyz Ooh... This was a nice way to also find out that the Fallout source code has actually been preserved!

@neia@zoner.work @sammallammas@mastodontti.fi (The photo above shows the old location.)

@Euan Almost immediately after the reveal, I was asking myself if this was going to become relevant in the games. Don't really feel like I can answer my own question, though. But it was cool to see Peach having magic being acknowledged again.

@trinsec Love that round postcard.

@aanee@mastodon.online @Craigp@mastodon.social I'm also Swedish, and (aside from the software) I think I've only heard the word "gimp" used by one person outside of the Internet, and that was a classmate/friend 20 years ago who used it while gaming.

@oscar@mastodon.online @chris@mstdn.games Yeah, I have no idea what Sony's plans are, but on the Nintendo side of things you can still download Wii U and 3DS games (and even Wii, I've been told). It actually felt really silly that the entire Wii U digital storefront is still fully available... except for the functionality that lets you make purchases.

@dangillmor@mastodon.social The absolutely unhinged stupidity of thinking a bunch of chat bots are capable of acting as a jury. But, hey, if they really think (they don't) that journalists are so much more powerful than billionaires, maybe these power-hungry clowns should donate their money to charitable causes and become journalists instead? 🤔

@fnrd@toots.nu @anders@m.astonsson.se Med kopplingen till Örebropartiet låter det inte speciellt lockande.

@neia@zoner.work @sammallammas@mastodontti.fi That would be extremely dangerous since it's been moved to a park area with trees (and surrounded by buildings).
