Seattle based, UK born human being with a wildly swinging pendulum of interests, not limited to: reading, stationery, geopolitics, gardening, television, film, fashion (not fast) and food.
Kitten Notes:
-
these guys are generally excellent at using the litterbox, but anything plastic and high sided can and will be used for toileting (this was the orange, obviously).
-
IKEA BOLMEN stepstools are both bunkers AND platforms! We have a bunch from our active human toddler years so it's good to use them for another round of nonsense.
-
sound effects: beeps not meows?

behind the washing machine is the best place to play (where all the dust I didn't vacuum is)

Oh hey, Seattle PSA: someone is trying to start an artist collective meetup at the Rainier Beach community center (next session: June 14th 3 - 5pm). More info here, or on the flyer image:

I logged in to Nextdoor just to look at all the threads of obscenely wealthy Boomers complaining about the Lake Washington Blvd bike weekends. Did you know they do this with their real names? Amazing.
More good news from this fine state: Washington is relaunching it's eBike rebate program.
Local PSA: Seattle Parks & Rec are refurbishing the restroom at Genessee Playfields to meet safety/accessibility standards.
"This will likely include individually accessed, all-gender toilet facilities, and new accessible parking area."
If anyone else has been wondering where Boots Riley gets his hats, here is the answer: Uptown Yardie, a British/Jamaican company in London. Big hats for all your big problems.

Dua Lipa interviews Claire Keegan, who is one of my all time favorite authors (and needs to write at least 5 more books because I have read them all), about her short story So Late In The Day and the themes of misogyny therein:

This afternoon I'm rewatching Lars Von Trier's Breaking the Waves, which is one of my all time favorite films. I can't help but wonder if the same film, gender flipped to be about the government/war, would garner the same kind of criticism as this film does w/r/t misogyny and female suffering.
Today in Parenting: I almost made it from kindergarten to the end of 8th grade without being asked to buy a display board for a school presentation.
Today, that streak ends.
So the US just indicted Raul Castro. I wonder if Putin had enough forethought to plan an extraction, or if he's just leaving the old man (and the Cuban people) to whatever awaits him.
