I've just finished watching The Wild Robot, and wow, is it emotional at times. Also hilarious, especially when there's attempts to 'teach' the gosling some survival skills... Kept me entertained all the way through, very good movie.

@bazkie@beige.party Yeah, I liked the gods in Xena as well. That's Greek. :) Just a random thought that occured to me. People in the ancient times had multiple gods, for multiple things so they can attribute certain events/things/traits to those individual gods. They all also have their own flaws, and it reflects humanity so nicely. It's the perfect way of projecting of the human nature. Then a bunch of people thought up the just-one-god thing, which is omnipotent, can do everything, never makes mistakes, and creates whole institutions around this one concept of a 'I am never wrong' type of deity. I'd dare say that religious corruption increased bigtime with the one-god concept, because it's never wrong so those institutions can never do wrong either. You can't defer to any other god so you have to be either suppressed, killed, or have to flee to somewhere else somehow where they don't do this one-god worshipping. Not that multiple gods are so great either but eh. Just a brainfart here. I really don't know where I wanted to go with this thinking. Just that religions suck, heh.

@leanderlindahl@social.folkdata.se The issues are more than just not really satisfying search results, though that certainly didn't help. I regularly get that popup inside their site about their app. I'm not interested in that at all but it keeps returning and it bothers me a lot. And another time, I wasn't even searching a lot that day but somehow I got limited, it refused to handle my requests for a whole day and I dunno why. It just said something about not handling my requests anymore due to too many requests, I don't recall exactly anymore. But I was totally fed up by that point. So I moved on to duckduckgo.

Yowza, the litterbox filler brand I usually buy over at Zooplus really increased bigtime in price. 40L for 30 euro a half year ago. For 35 euro a month ago. Now it's 41 euro. Good thing I am already in the progress of switching over to something else that's far cheaper (for 40L I pay like 26 euro). Testing it out now, so far first impressions are positive so that might be a permanent switch. Jeez, that's a steep price hike in a short timeframe while the product also got worse over time (it got much dustier while the major reason to buy it was that it was barely dusty).

Of course I do care, but if the European search engine alternatives are so underdeveloped that I'm basically giving myself a bloody hard time finding anything, and still find nothing... Google Search started out in a dorm room. So to have a good start shouldn't be that expensive if you've got the smarts. I'm already in the process of moving many of my services over to Europe, but the search engine.. why cannot there be a good alternative. But I'll look up the others you've listed. Qwant is, for me, not a good alternative.
