As the Bible says, "It is easier for an oil tanker to pass through the Strait of Hormuz than for a rich man to understand a fairer society might be better for them in the medium to long-term."

Cement = fine grey powder that reacts with water.
Cement paste = cement + water
Cement mortar = cement paste + sand
Concrete = cement mortar + aggregate (gravel)
So those trucks with the rotating drum are concrete trucks, not 'cement mixers'. Also they do not mix, they agitate, to prevent early setting. They do not need to be tilted to pour out the concrete, they just change the direction of rotation and the blades are like a screw and push the concrete out.

@SeaFury@aus.social I think if you don't know why they put that comment then it would be fair to ask them. Does it need rephrasing because it is unclear, or because it is inelegant?
I was lucky to have an excellent supervisor, who I have been thinking about because he died recently.
The most important things in academic writing are precision and clarity.
A thesis is just a series of factual statements backed up by evidence or logic, so every statement must have an empirical or logical basis.

I also quite like Backspacer, it's full of bangers, and the last track The End is an amazing song.

The thing is, these are all things that any reasonable/normal/kind landlord would be doing anyway. But reasonable/normal/kind landlords are rare it seems, so legislation is needed!
Letting Agents are to blame for a lot of bad treatment of tenants - encouraging landlords to maximise profits and be ruthless. A friend who rents out a house thinks they will have to sell because of this law, but we pointed out that they wouldn't want to do any of the things it makes illegal anyway.

Also, if we are naming famous tunes in 5/4, Mars from Gustav Holst's The Planets is a notable one.

I think the left fails to see that there doesn't have to be a hierarchy and control system for the right to do bad things that benefit them to the detriment of the majority. For instance, there doesn't have to be a conspiracy in place for Putin to meddle in elections in other countries to benefit candidates who are sympathetic to him. He'll be doing it anyway.

It is a reference to Yeats's Second Coming:
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

Sometimes it is easier to just do the thing. Don't think about it, just do it.

Sealion here asking for links to peer reviewed studies that would support your point. However, I will remain skeptical regardless so you may as well not go to all the effort.

Or possibly an agreement where Iran and USA charge tolls and split them 50:50, Trump becomes best buds with the Ayatollah, and we all pay more for goods while they get richer. He will claim it is the best deal ever made. They get to walk away with something they can claim as a win, and the ordinary people end up paying for all the missiles and bomb damage.

@thecommongreen@mastodon.scot "Starmer, but with better comms" would also be an improvement. However, I don't like Burnham's shifting to the right on trans rights and immigration recently... both indications that he is not going to be less socially conservative than the current government.

Just like crisp flavours, I think bin colours should be standardised:
Green = recycling / cheese and onion
Blue = household waste / salt and vinegar
Brown = garden waste / roast beef
Red = a.n.other waste (bottles?) / ready salted
