Ten years ago, ‘You Took the Last Bus Home’ was published. It was my first collection of poetry and incredibly, it’s still going strong. To celebrate the anniversary, I thought I’d share a poem from it every day this month, starting with the title poem.
Today is Venn Day, in celebration of the mathematician John Venn, born on this day in 1834. To commemorate the occasion, here’s a poem in the form of a Venn Diagram.
My autumn tour starts today. Sadly, it may be the last grand outing for this notebook, which has survived floods, famine, pestilence & someone trying to make off with it after a gig in Brighton.
Hopefully it will make it to Monmouth today, followed by Aberystwyth, Cardigan, Winchester & Guildford.

Hope to see some of you when I'm out and about. (1/2)

Given that it’s May 4th, I suppose I should give this its annual airing.

It’s paperback publication day for my collection of poems about pets, Let Sleeping Cats Lie.
Available for a mere £7.99 from a bookshop near you. Thats about a bob per poem in old money.

Just under two weeks to go before my #edfringe debut and here’s a fab poster designed by the brilliant @ninaffle to advertise the show.
It would be great to see you there.

Clarification: please note that my show on 4th October features the reading of Bilston poems at the Milton Rooms in Malton, not Milton poems at the Malton Rooms in Bilston.

@macronencer@mastodon.scot I’m not casting any judgement myself, merely passing on what was reported to me.

I can’t remember whether I’ve mentioned this before but I’m going on tour this autumn: 46 shows across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, plus the last week of the Edinburgh Fringe.
It would be smashing to see you at one of these.

@2003MugishaPhocit@mastodon.social Thanks, I’m not sure where best you can source a copy in Uganda. Maybe try a bookseller like Blackwell’s online. They ship around the world, although the postage may be prohibitive.
