@mastodonmigration@mastodon.online So it's a success! another 20% increase on SpaceX stock prices!

@macronencer@mastodon.scot @ChrisMayLA6@mastodon.me.uk The ridiculous nature of the arrests and the 'show' trials are stuff of nightmares from repressive governments' histories, and we're experiencing them here in 2026, in the UK. Truly maddening. This can't bode well for Labour in the next election and for the next decade. Lawyers being charged for the crime of 'telling what the law is' in court is just horrendous. https://www.lawgazette.co.uk/news/kafkaesque-lawyers-rally-to-defence-of-silk-cited-for-contempt/5127485.article

@crispius@mstdn.fname.ca Companies and people don't care. They're looking at replacing people, especially at the junior level, but the junior simpler jobs are how people train up to be architects or experts. We're no longer giving them that chance. The cost doesn't matter, as long as it's cheaper than a full time junior person being replaced. @wdormann@infosec.exchange @witchescauldron@kolektiva.social

@davidgerard@circumstances.run I guess he forgot we have been coding since 1960s...

@designthinkingcomic@mastodon.social Painfully accurate.

@AkaSci@fosstodon.org Am I the only one remembering this 'genius' advocating for steel bodies so that they wouldn't need a heat shield to start with? They are getting more and more desperate now.

@NorcalGma2 I don't get it, why did the police had to comply with the Pizza shop's request and enforce such an action?

@GIFS_of_Puppets@ohai.social In a weird way, this is so, so scary!

@ObsidianUrbex@mstdn.social The colour scheme reminds me of my own primary school!

@joshuaelliott@mastodon.social @malcircuit@thingy.social How do I donate?

@nixCraft@mastodon.social On the positive side, you can always have a nice sandwich by asking Sudo to make one.

@GossiTheDog This is more and more feels like a coordinated attack on FOSS by the big software.

@hkrn good.

@ObsidianUrbex@mstdn.social 80s Turkey was grim. :)

@kityates@mas.to Tampering to Big Cancer... Sigh... He's an idiot.

@bruces This reminds me of IBM naming everything under the sun WebSphere for a while.

@molly0xfff I love reading good news like this.

@dns13@chaos.social @TechConnectify@mas.to I'm just at the start section and all of the benefits of solar bits I'm going "OK, this video isn't for me, it's an education piece for the dumb portion of the Americans and the UK Reform voters" but looks like I really need to watch the rest!

@cstross@wandering.shop @Edwin085@mastodon.nl @funranium@redwombat.social Please, stop giving them ideas. The future is going to be just too horrible.

@jwcph@helvede.net @lauren@mastodon.laurenweinstein.org Not exactly - USA was depth-charging Soviet subs armed with nuclear weapons, and the captain of the said sub was about to start a nuclear war by firing a nuclear tipped torpedo back. It took one of the three responsible offices opposing it and convincing the others (captain and the poitical officer). I truly wish we never get into this state of things ever again. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_submarine_B-59

@Gammitin I had one for work, loved it.

@robinince@mastodon.social The term 'useful idiots' come to mind. You have chosen the righteous path.

@willoremus@mastodon.social @aaronjschaffer@mastodon.social Great, a bunch of people I will never be sad if they lose the shirts they wear.

@Pwnallthethings@mastodon.social It was impossible to predict this.

@jk@mastodon.social i thought it was The Cat Pictures?

@garethlpowell@mastodon.online @jdiannedotson@mastodon.online Looks good! We all have that problem. In my head I'm still 21, not encroaching to my 50s...

@patagona@chaos.social I was pretty sure we were about to be rickrolled.

@ethicsinbricks@mastodon.online The Annoyed. Absolutely correct.

@karstenbondy @MicroSFF that would br the 80s with 300-1200 baud acoustic couplers. By nineties we had moved onto 2400, 9600 and better.

@oatmeal@mastodon.social the diagram about how ideas become a product should be printed and hung in every office wall

@ZachWeinersmith@mastodon.social Don't think Musk wears glasses publicly yet, is that Zuckerberg?

@tbortels@infosec.exchange @soph@grrl.me @pork_soda@friendsofdesoto.social @hazelweakly@hachyderm.io I had also done philosophy as an elective in high school - it wasn't a very popular option in the tech/maths track. I'm not claiming I understood everything as a 17y old, but it did give me an introduction.

@karstenbondy @MicroSFF Starting own instance requires a bit of technical, time and monetary investment but I foresee this happening more often in the future. All you need is a RasPi with some external storage and a DNS entry that's updated, or a small cloud instance VM and storage. Regardless, I wouldn't expect non-techies do it just like that but it looks like the 90s BBS boom.

@austinkocher@mastodon.social Let's call them what they are, Trump's SA.

@ThePlant It's a trap!

@petergleick No, I don't think he will last that long, but we will miss him when Vance the full-time-Fascist becomes the actual president, instead of the de facto one.

@prefec2 @petergleick It worked for Republicans and Reagan, why not again?

@nazokiyoubinbou@urusai.social @thomholwerda@exquisite.social @michel@mastodon.bsd.cafe Code of conduct.

@cstross@wandering.shop Flamewar?

@tbortels@infosec.exchange @soph@grrl.me @hazelweakly@hachyderm.io It is a choice. When I was training to be an engineer, ethics was a selective course. It should have been mandatory.

@mjsberna @petergleick An illegal third term? He's already on his second, and he claims he was president when Biden won the election so in his mind this is already his 3rd.

@alistaircoleman@mastodon.social please come back, I missed the Trouser Watch and unfortunately for me I guess, I refuse to use another billionaire's site thx to previous experience...

@Sylvhem @david_chisnall For a couple of weeks I had found Windows 7 stable but it did not last.

@meltedcheese@c.im @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org @lauren@mastodon.laurenweinstein.org Unfortunately the nutters in the USA, Russia, and France have exploded enough open-air nukes to prove this won't happen.
