What I mean by an "anti-problem solver" is not simply someone who creates more problems. No, that's rookie shit. The anti-problem solver is someone who makes it impossible for a problem solver to do their job. They make themselves and others believe the problem isn't real, invent imaginary unsolvable problems that consume resources for no purpose, or directly interfere with established problem-solving mechanisms.

"Central economic planning would be terrible!" Our current economy is being centrally planned by a handful of credulous weirdos who are currently attempting to turn every hectare of arable land into GPU-filled data centers that will boil the oceans. I'm open to trying something different.

The AI bubble is going to fuck up everything for a decade. We're all going to be the ones that pay the bill, not the people at the top who made it happen. Fuck them all. If I sound angry, it's because I am.

I wasn't really expecting this to be so popular when I posted it, but in retrospect it's not surprising.

Part of why I enjoy #astrophotography and #astrophysics is because humanity can't fuck it up. What I mean is the most humanity can reasonably ruin is our own solar system, and even if that does happen it would take millennia. The rest of the universe will continue to do its thing, completely immune from our meddling and stupidity. /1

The AI companies have been (and still are) heavily subsidizing their token costs as a way to get people to use their product. And at any rate, the models need to be constantly updated and retrained if you want it to have up-to-date information. That's where most of the energy and cost of these systems go into.
