Man, these savings on my Amazon business account are really making it all worth it. Trickle-down economics is such a great idea.

@LRRRonEarth@beige.party Look, the trans person in my life is literally building blinking, wearable lights in my garage with the door open right now. We're literally as on topic as we can be.

I am so curious to know the results of this, @SecureOwl@infosec.exchange. What a great injection vector!

@CStamp @oftencalledcathy Sure. Could have got lucky on random chance, but... kids are profoundly receptive to signals from society at large about what they should wear.
Anyway, used to be switched I think - red for Mars, blue for Venus, and the pastel versions of each for babies.

@smallcircles@social.coop I think it would be moral - and interesting - to make a queue to manually review delete requests.
Personally, growing up with IRC, I expect my online conversations to both be completely missed by the party I'm trying to talk to and archived forever by half the world's governments and a few assorted hobby data archivists. Deletion is not really a "thing".

@b0rk@social.jvns.ca I used it for a complicated dashboard a few months ago at work, combined with subgrid and some dynamically populated details elements. Absolutely pain in the neck to get right, but really powerful when I did. The ability to overlap stuff in a responsive manner was great. 🙂

@ClancyParliament@mastodon.online I ran Mint for a while, that might be a good choice. I'm currently on KDE Neon, but I think it's a small project based on Ubuntu so I can't really recommend it. Plus it's misbehaving for me at the moment.
What OS you install and what desktop environment you use are usually pretty independent, so like you can switch between Gnome and KDE and i3 and others to see which one you like and which meets your performance budget on the old laptops. 🙂

I like the effect on the wings so far, @rabbit@cathode.church. Been a while since I did a fiber art. 🤔

Ah god this continues to be one of my favorite webcomics, @heatherhorns@plush.city. This is wonderful.
A few strips ago, "I wanna see a screen door in person" just sent me. x'D

It's been a long, long time. And I think it was mainly a hostage-taking tactic anyway.

@foone@digipres.club, is your alphabet soup made from dvorak or the more common qwerty keyboard? (The terror affects the taste.)

@smallcircles@social.coop I'd definitely not display anything publically that's been requested deleted, though. That would be quite impolite.

@dascandy@infosec.exchange @fristi@56k.dile-up.nl Two days ago I've had to go in and futz with my apt packaging priorities because the automatic updater in my system settings was trying to uninstall my graphical desktop. It's fixable, yes, but the thing is - the annoyances in Windows or Mac aren't critical, I-don't-have-a-computer-anymore annoyances. If you muck it up, the system still works come heck or high water.

This is fair. I can't figure out how to add any to the apartment here though.
I blame modern open architecture.

@groxx@hachyderm.io. I think disk storage became like 100x cheaper or something, so the cost of hosting them yourselves basically went away. It was always a usability/reliability mess anyway.
To some extent, it's also been a while since I've been on a forum at all, as well... 🤔

@b0rk@social.jvns.ca On the old forums, hosting often didn't want to do images... too large? It was handy to be able to link them in from a dedicated hoster, like imagebin or something.
