Well that's the first MOT of the year successfully completed. A 2013 car that's still dutifully operational.
I've just read the phrase "...American AI’s profit model is at stake if the Chinese start..." and I had to stop to collect myself. American AI’s profit model is already broken, Chinese competition has nothing to do with this!
I re-oiled our kitchen worktops yesterday. Consequently all of yesterday's washing up is stacked on every remaining flat surface (mostly the hob and the windowsill). I have to leave in 45 minutes, and I still have to wash & dry all the dishes, clean & dry all the worktops, apply another coat of oil, pack all my painting gear, have a shower, get dressed and leave.
I just want to go back to bed.
Edit: on top of all that our arthritic old cat has just now fallen out of his bed upstairs (I could hear the thumps and the dismayed yowl from here) and now he needs some attention and loxicom.
I've just been relieved of my Saturday obligations and now I can look forward to a lie-in tomorrow. BOMPF!
Are there no vulnerable demographics that the BBC won't throw under the bus in aid of the right wing project?
I have had a tab open for about 3 months now, an article about PJ Proby.
I've never knowingly heard a performance by this artist, and honestly I do not know why I care or even if I do.
But still I can't bring myself to close the tab.
This thought occurred to me while on the trainer this morning: those DVD boxsets at the bottom of the bookcase that have been there for 10 years and will most likely remain unwatched forever, maybe I could rip them and watch them while training?
I'm a little embarrassed that I've only thought of this now, in 2026.
Come to think of it, I've never seen Mozart and Blackmore in the same room.
A difference between VCs and civilians is that VCs give their money with the promise of having their desires met, while civilians have their money taken with the promise of having their needs met.
Believe me: the hammer is coming...down! down!
Someone on this bus is deep, deep in the lore of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Oh dear. I've been using the word 'nonplussed' incorrectly all my life. Whoops.
I've just watched a piper hold a drone, a single unwavering pair of notes, in front of a sold out theatre crowd, for three, maybe four minutes.
Hearing a pin drop wouldn't be in. The audience tension was serious.
Chagrin. I'm remembering why I traditionally get haircuts mid-week.
The BBC are really doing the right wing's work for them here
I just looked at LinkedIn to try and understand something someone said. First time on there in years.
I am so glad I am out of the tech environment and cut off from that kind of engagement and thinking. Reading some posts was like taking my winter gloves off to touch something very cold. No thanks.
