@silsby@hcommons.social @olivia@scholar.social Here is my core takeaway, I have a core take away from reading the article: "I must repeat: just because somebody claims to be anti AI does not mean they are not doing entryism. Sadly, that is (in isolation) entirely consistent with entryism. Yes, these people lie about their beliefs." Liars going to lie, especially about their beliefs re: AI/LLMs

@inthehands@hachyderm.io Truly this, yes. Not useful. Not necessary. Maybe back in the age of the invention of the Diner's Club credit card for 3-martini business expense lunches when nobody carried enough cash to pay. But not now, not today. Flush Equifax down the history tidy bowl. DUMP credit reporting agencies altogether.

@davidgerard@circumstances.run If they are still in bed with the auditors like 2008 they'll rate all the Collateralized Debt Obligations as triple-A, and resell into the market, but everything is not Triple-A. Nor is the "risk" evenly hedged. In fact it's not hedged at all. Every tranche within the CDO is likely to fail. If you hear CDO, tranche, or ratings, run AWAY.

@brianb Why not just use a Plastic Halloween jack o' lantern. It's smaller, lightweight, almost as sanitary and will be easier to empty (although requiring more frequent emptying). Man, sakes alive. hopes and prayers, and hopefully the lockdown kit "bucket" won't ever need to be used as a stop-gap latrine.

@steter @jalefkowit hover.com formerly Tucows, been there since 2011, no issues. I was on GoDaddy just prior to that when I learned that "Bob" the guy that created the joint, was mad rabid shutting down domains or handing over data at the least instance of then Prez, Dubya Bush expressing anger/interest in a domain under Bob's jurisdiction at GoDaddy. Too eager to pleez Fashy type moves. I fled as soon as I found Hover was Canadian, and somewhat harder to brow-beat and threaten by FBI request

So Mythos is all myth then I take it.
AKA the mythos of Mythos.
A more apt name could never have been chose, by accident or on purpose.

Welcome to the PR Stunt Olympics!

`But after the system turned up just a single vulnerability, he concluded the hype around Mythos was “primarily marketing” rather than a major AI security breakthrough.`

In the era prior to the hinged devices with a metal rolling disk. You could use this monstrosity to poke an initial hole near the rim, and slowly nip/fold your around the edge until you girdled the can lid. We had one at home. I never saw anyone use it. And yet no one EVER threw it away. Feel like this is the thing U.S. Civil War troops might have used to open Tinned Meat

That just leaves the middle photo, the second one of guy. And I think that's John von Neumann and I confirm that's correct too. So if you bump into that teevee commercial. It's roughly like this. With the tagline,... "Just Make Stuff" Well OpenAI, I dare say none of these 3 folks just ever vibed their way to success. Wether it be COBOL, or the von Neumann computer architecture or the Unix OS or C programming language, it took EFFORT and help from a lot of colleagues to make it happen.
