Alright fedi hive mind, I have a challenge for you. I am looking for resources that explain ME/CFS and/or MCAS to a South Asian audience, to support a friend in explaining her needs to her family (immigrants in Canada). This has already stumped several South Asian people with ME, but I am asking just in case one of you has a special video or PDF or Facebook group hookup. Thank you for any leads!

Oooh, kickstarter for a new PNW wild dye book by a very cool dyer I have followed for several years. She does some beautiful and rare dye techniques-- purples and blues from lichens and fungus, dyes that change colour in sunlight, etc. (Book has a big ole ethics section, as you should expect with foraging and especially lichens.)

An OT (of course) recently introduced me to phase change cooling clothing and the tech is so interesting!
Unlike water ice packs that take forever to freeze and then are so cold that you can only safely touch them for 10 minutes at a time, some genius made gel packs that freeze at 15C. So you can freeze them in the fridge and then wear them continuously for hours without frostbite.
They are pricey but there aren't many other options for people who need to be outside in the heat.

One last thought from my pacing webinar tonight -- group healthcare appointments are awesome and I don't think most people realize that until they try one.
The Long Covid Clinic and the BC-CLMF both use group appointments and they have really won me over. You get everything you need, PLUS other people ask questions you didn't think of, forgot, or were too shy to ask. People also ask about things that haven't happened to you yet so you can be prepared. You usually get 60+ minutes too! Big fan

Today's small pleasure is that I received the pickle pebbles and pickle pipes I ordered. Bonus: I had forgotten about them. Double bonus: I was just psyching myself up to maintain my annoying DIY fermentation setup, involving washing scum off tiny mason jars of water and swapping in clean cloth napkins to cover the jars. Suck it, annoying chores!
