Alright fedi hive mind, I have a challenge for you. I am looking for resources that explain ME/CFS and/or MCAS to a South Asian audience, to support a friend in explaining her needs to her family (immigrants in Canada). This has already stumped several South Asian people with ME, but I am asking just in case one of you has a special video or PDF or Facebook group hookup. Thank you for any leads!
Boosts welcome :)

By the way, all four antihistamines seem to affect periods, PMS, and cycles, moods, hormones, and so on.
That is, if my experience suggests anything at all about it.
There are women who say that Zyrtec ( cetirizine ) made their PMS/PMDD better but I suspect that it may even make things worse for some women as well.
YMMV I guess.

I also checked the excipients in the famotidine tablets and found talc.
Talc is sometimes contaminated with asbestos. It is very difficult, if not impossible, to separate them and testing for asbestos is neither mandatory nor always done.
There are safer substitutes but inertia keeps manufacturers from switching to them.
Both products are Target branded, made in India.
I have to remember to read labels thoroughly before paying for things. Allergies are no fun. #MCAD and #MCAS are no fun at all. Dodectuple-plus unfun. Or more.
Please share, if you can. I'm so deeply sorry & embarrassed. I'm desperate and not doing well without my medications. 😖

🔥 psa for anyone taking quercetin on a regular basis 🔥
this may be common knowledge and just previously unknown to me, but i've just today discovered that quercetin chelates iron/blocks iron absorption and can lead to anaemia and/or low ferritin levels. so if you're taking it regularly, please have things checked!
(and if ferritin is low enough, just stopping quercetin won't be enough to bring it up and possibly neither will otc iron supplements, so please do get some numbers / help if necessary)
i've just been in tears from finding this out as quercetin is one of the few things that helps me at all, and given i have no medical care, one of the few things i can access. i've been taking a decent dose daily for the past ... 13 years? but my ferritin was on the floor at my last blood test a year ago (ofc i couldn't find anyone to do anything about that). and i can't even take oral iron, not that it would help if i could, given my levels, but. yes. yay
take care people and good luck
