“Easy to Learn, Difficult to Master” by David Kushner and Koren Shadmi. A dual biography covering a few years' rivalry between Nolan Bushnell and Ralph Baer during the 1970s, including fantasy gaming encounters between the two. There are a few charming moments, but the one-color artwork is underwhelming. Al Alcorn is drawn as the wrong character on page 51.
Possibly #3 in a series of graphic history reviews. #videogames #atari #history #histodons #comic #comics #artwork #graphicnovel #book

@DavidGallagher@sfba.social It's the same house near the end, that had an unusual rounded facade, then the road was moved farther away and it got a blocky extension in front? Is it still there?

A very nifty diary, of art and text, from the Merry Pranksters / Grateful Dead cohort, was just recovered in an antique store:

@suzannealdrich @briankrebs IMHO, even though he never read it, this guy seems to have taken “The Shock Doctrine” to heart. His motivation doesn't need to be exogenous; he still thinks he'll benefit.

@insecteuthanasia I understand the claim this way: Person A suggests Linux to Person B, who has already decided that it is too difficult, therefore the suggestion is ableist. Person B should probably stick to using a Speak and Spell.

@AutisticInnovator Among FOSS, GIMP is great for photos and Inkscape for object layouts. Their learning curves may be steeper than Canva's though.

@amapanda@en.osm.town I imagine that the number of place names is related to Galicia's famously smaller agricultural lands (minifundios, as opposed to the latifundios that were normal in the rest of Spain).
If you can read Spanish, see https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minifundio .

@dobody@mastodon.design I hesitate to generalize, but you can easily enough find foundries' type catalogs, which I would consider evidence of a marketplace for type independent of presses. It seems simple enough to assume that sellers of used presses would sometimes include type and this could be also borne out by advertisements. Whether a specific press bought their type separately seems harder to determine, unless you find evidence of such transactions.
