I also am not a huge fan of a lot of Modern Corporations or AI. I will proudly display Clippy in my Profile.
Usage of GenAIs in most cases means you will run into "Use it or lose it". If you don't use parts of your brain you will RELY on GenAIs to do it. Learn how to learn instead of renting out parts of your brain to things like ChatGPT.
I prioritize Art over Profits.

Yeah even though I have used "If you don't respect me I won't respect you" as a defense mechanism before the more I think about it the more dehumanizing it is I think. Everyone has their reasons for why they act the way they do, so a little sympathy in some cases can lead to mutual respect.
In some cases though it's clear that people are just disrespectful. I am not saying to show Trump, Musk, Zuckerburg or any corporation sympathy, but normal people it might be good.

I just looked into Elementary OS and it looks intriguing. Don't know if I would use it because it looks like more of a MAC like interface, but everything being pay what you want similar to Itch.io sounds very intriguing.
In a world where so many things are getting enshittified Elementary OS being PWYW AND having NO AI is a huge plus.

If someone gets mad enough and chooses violence towards the powerful taking advantage of us though I am not going to disagree. It goes my many names "Play Stupid Games Win Stupid Prizes" and FAFO is a couple.
Abuse the people and someone will get mad eventually. If you don't care about people I don't pity you if someone reacts with violence.

@sinbad Actions causing nothing is so annoying. Another thing in RPGs that annoy me at least is the random instant death moves in a lot of JRPGs.
Like no count down or anything to prevent it just "BOOM insta death no matter how much health you have" that can get really annoying if done too often with no sort of timer.

@TechConnectify Just finished the video. I wasn't expecting to see an engine in a dishwasher, but it's a good video to learn how some stuff in the engine works especially since I have started driving more recently.
Now I am curious if you are going to make a video about how electric cars run with how often you mentioned them in this video. Or if I just missed when you posted a video on how electric car engines work.
Overall though I enjoyed the video and feel like I learned some good knowledge.

@ludd Gen AI should be NO WHERE near schools. At least if schools is actually about learning at all and not training to be a capitalist slave.
At this point I don't respect a school if they start adding Generative AI (I know it may come from higher up at which point the disrespect goes to whoever made the decision)

@obsurveyor@mastodon.gamedev.place @Moosader@mastodon.gamedev.place Yep. I don't know about making games directly in Blender, but the bridge between Godot and Blender is decent especially if you use the material maker someone made in Godot.
Godot is also FOSS, so it's good for another software to use if you'd like.
I use Blender for all my 3D Modelling the main pitfalls I would say are more to do with art in general and not Blender specifically though. Though I guess the best I can say is try not to be overwhelmed by all the options.

I tried the demo while I am taking a bit of a break from Terraria. Overall the demo was pretty fun. It was short, but I think I have a good idea for the full game will be like. Definitely staying on my wishlist.

It's more like a siren saying "With my 'help' you can make art", but it isn't you really making it if that makes sense. It's like asking for food and you get vaguely edible paste. FOSS like Blender and Krita are legit commodifying art.
Either way though F AI and F corporations for trying to dehumanize people for profit to try to satisfy their greed.

Really fun video. It's very interesting hearing all the ways we could use audio to make things better. I have been wanting to make my own ringtones for my phone, so it's good to keep in mind not being obtrusive. I may have to make a whole suite of notification sounds for my phone, so I can tell what app is trying to notify me.
The pebble watch seems interesting too when it comes to smart watches.

Not sure if I will get the bundle, but over 100 games for 99% if you bought them individually is just the kind of crazy bundle I try to tell people about on Itch.io
You don't find bundles like THAT on Steam and for a charity either.

@gabe_sky@infosec.exchange Cool website. It's always hard to find good QR Code generators, so finding one this good that is dedicated to being completely free and no shady business is great. I will try to shout this out any time someone needs a QR Code. I especially love the fact you can change the colors on it if you want to try different colors or make it transparent.
I knew you could change the background color and it work, but I will have to test how much you can change the Foreground color and it work.

@gabe_sky@infosec.exchange So I did some testing and it's crazy how much actually works when messing with colors.
Not only does changing the background color work, but changing the foreground color works too. To fully try things out I also tried inverting the colors and even trying light blue foreground next darkest blue background and it worked. Overall surprised by what actually works and pleased by how much the site has that most sites don't in terms of usability.

@hailey Yeah the argument seems to ignore one really big issue "Use it or Lose it". I am sure writing does in way make people worse. Maybe people have worse memory when they can just write something down and look back at it later. Though that is probably more minor compared to LLMs. Not using some parts if your brain will make those skills weaker or not built up.
