@jalefkowit their shady practices got me to move away from them many years ago.
I’m to the point where if they were ever an exclusive registrar for a TLD, I’d just come with up a whole different idea just to never use them again.
As good as Wi-Fi has gotten, there really isn’t anything better than using wired connections for some devices.
If my previous Ethernet connection where I needed it was 1GB I might not have minded, however, it was only 100Mbps, so that was untenable. I ran a new cat6a cable and it’s now the proper 2.5Gbps for my desktop.

@paul I have to maintain/customize one that is used by a large number of end point apps, all with slightly different requirements that aren’t part of the spec.
I get the intent but it’s a lot to maintain.

Why does Microsoft think that releasing WEEKLY office 365 is actually a good thing? A button that says “Hey there's an update", would be preferred instead of the auto-popup update thing they have now.
It looks like the Apple Savings account APR has dropped again. It’s now 3.5%.

@charliemchapman I’m using an M1 Max Mac Studio and I have an M2 Mac MacBook Pro. Depending on the price I may be upgrading a device later this year. Also depending on price I may end up combing both devices and only using a single one. I’ve been waffling on combing them for a while now.

@jessamyn I think for those who knew life before the internet, and have seen how much the internet has changed, we have a highly tuned sense of how public we should be. Of course, how public or private one is, will differ for everybody, due to personal circumstances.
I also 100% understand not wanting to discuss things with randos. Some things are fine, but many topics I'd rather not discuss.

@flargh the teacher I remember actually giving a damn, and noticed my abilities, was the programming teacher in junior year. She let me skip the first class (VB6), and go straight to the advanced class (c++) for senior year.
I’m not saying she’s the reason I do programming today (I think it was the thing I gravitated to anyway), but it surely didn’t hurt.

My kindergarten teacher asked me where the shoulders were on this drawing we were doing. It put me off of any sort of artistic endeavors.
I was taken out of advanced math in 4th grade because I asked if I could add 13+9 and get the same answer. The teacher didn’t think I was getting the idea. It put me off from doing advanced math.
