mastodon 4.7.2Quiet soul who enjoys knitting, spinning, reading, and cats. Endlessly creative cook. Chronically ill with ME for lo these twenty-some odd years.

It was its tendency to bend at the knees."

Me unboxing a new computer in 2016: oh, this is so exciting! Look how stylish you are, let's see all the new stuff you can do for me.
Me unboxing a new computer in 2026: yeah, yeah, big woop. Shut the fuck up! I said shut up! It does ONLY what Mommy wants or it gets the belt. Don't even try to contact Google, you traitorous piece of crap.
I miss the old days.

Today I got a gentle reminder that these adorable floof muffins that we love, and get very close to are still animals. They were wild not that long ago. Since their species is both predator and prey, sometimes they can suddenly freak out and fight for their lives with no warning. I'm fine, and so is the fur beast, but neither of us wants to look at the other right now. Yike. #cat #catsofmastodon #teeth #claws #TheHorror #TheCulprit
I was sitting here gaming, and gradually realized I was feeling so, so sad. Like up against a wall of sadness. There is a grief in my life I could attach to this feeling, but it doesn't usually smack me like that. And then I remembered the weather. We had a long dry spell, which ended with hours of lovely thunderstorms today. Which has led to a mold spike. Which usually makes me feel sad. And sleepy, with watery sad, sleepy eyes. Like now. Oh. #allergy #weather #mold #emotions #autism

Here I am with another NMS question. Now that I know how to obtain various eggs, milks 😑, and 🤢 berries from creatures, not to mention waxes and mucus 🤮, can I keep herds? Like, can I become a rancher, and have pens in my base area? And what's the benefit of these foods I can produce from these disgusting raw materials ? Do they give bonuses like in other games? So many questions! #NMS #gross #nomanssky #NoMansSkyCommunity
@sarahdalgulls@ecoevo.social At different points in the late '80s, I bought two daily use bags. One was a large, plain canvas zipper purse from Walmart ($10?) , and the other was a lovely purple backpack from North Face or similar (maybe $45?) Both were perfect in every way. I used both of them hard, stuffed 'em full and dragged them across rocks, and never saw any signs of wear. About 10 years ago, I passed them both to new owners, looking almost new, especially the purple pack.
Did you ever try a red walnut? They're so round and cute. The flavor is milder than other walnut varieties I've tasted. It kind of reminds me of a beetle, or a turtle. #justchatting #food #walnuts #nuts #tasty #EveryDayHasSomethingPositive #BrainBleach
Leslie Jones might be the funniest person around. Whatever it is, she commits.

Here's a strange thing. I have food in the feeder, and power running to both feeder and livestock unit (blue eires), and there are tons of these cute little weirdos zooming around, eating, and...splashing warm proto-milk everywhere. But none is making it into the unit. I can stand here and milk them, but the machine is doing nothing. Ideas? #NMS #no_mans_sky
Great voice, and lovely guitar work. Quite a songwriter, too.

Other than the intro, etc, I love everything about this, the song, performance, and the reaction. Mr Bojangles is one of those deceptively simple songs that teaches us how to keep our hearts alive through adversity. Mr B suffered with addiction, grief, and jail time. He felt all of it, but he danced for his new cellmate. Still made beauty as best he could, and generations later, a young person can still feel that. #philosophy #courage #beauty #resilience
