I live in rural Vermont with my amazing partner @sarahscully@glammr.us, our four-legged roommate @leopoldregulus, and a bunch of lawnmowers masquerading as sheep.

I enjoy gardening, music, food, travel, and the company of kind-hearted people. 🍻

Been using Mastodon since May 2017.

@evan@cosocial.ca I genuinely would love know who the 3% answering 'yes' are so I can block them. No means no. There is no "except" or "unless" in that sentence.

If you want to make America great again start taxing the rich and corporations like they were in the 1950s.

Rip Sid Krofft. I have many fond memories of the shows he created with his brother, Marty, especially ‘The Banana Splits,' 'H.R. Pufnstuf,' 'Land of the Lost,’ ‘The Bugaloos’ and ‘Sigmund and the Sea Monsters’

Thanks, Sid.

@evan@cosocial.ca iirc Paul Simon wrote this verse from Under African Skies for Linda Ronstadt (who sings on the track) based on her description of the skies in Arizona when she was a child. “In early memory Mission music Was ringing 'round my nursery door I said take this child, Lord From Tucson, Arizona Give her the wings to fly through harmony And she won't bother you no more” I’ve been to Grand Canyon, Tucson, Sedona & a few other places over the years ago and the Arizona skies are impressive.

Yet another example of England & the US being separated by a common language* from a BBC Sport headline:

"Two fans get first banning orders for tailgating"

Tailgating in the US is a party in a parking lot before a game -- usually American football -- which comes from the act of opening one's trunk/boot to enjoy food and drink.

Today I learned that in the UK it means entering an event w/o a ticket by riding the tail of someone else going through the ticket gate.

Hello Canadian friends, especially those in #Ottawa: Spouse and I will be in Ottawa in mid-May to visit friends (who are from Toronto) and we are looking for some local suggestions. We have nice meal booked, and a canal cruise too. But what else do locals suggest? Thanks!

@WTL Thank you. As you guessed I have identified many museums to consider, and I have mapped out a loop walk that will cross the river twice. We have booked a canal boat ride. I have more than enough food* & drink options identified. I have located a few record stores, and a few stationery/pen stores, but more like that would be welcomed. I could definitely use some knitting and or occult shop suggestions. 😂 *a few people with dietary preferences

“Apple implied that the 65 year-old Cook would continue serving as the company's de-facto ambassador to politicians in his new role. ‘As executive chairman, Cook will assist with certain aspects of the company, including engaging with policymakers around the world.’”

My translation:

“Apple will continue to coddle fascist dictators with Tim Cook remaining in that role”

@evan@cosocial.ca I am so confused. I click on that account and am met with a wall of buttons(?) that say Add. There is one that reads "Accept" but I haven't knowingly clicked anything. I don't see how to simply follow. And when I click on the follow account in certain iOS apps I get nothing at all. *shrug*

@odin @marcoarment Sorry it doesn't work for you, but I would wager that most people aren't using 1Password's deeper features as a power user like you does -- but that is true of most hardware and software. Personally, I like how easily Apple Passwords integrates with my authenticator app, and I am hoping more features are on the horizon!

@christianselig@mastodon.social Maybe so, but for me it is a principle. I have a device that does all the things I want to use in a car, and that car maker is blocking me. I don't like that. Maybe it is a neurodiversity thing. I don't know. But if I had to buy a car today, it is enough of an issue for me that I would avoid them and not feel I am missing out.
