@davidculley Back in the time of the dinosaur (the '80s), I took an Introduction to System Analysis course taught by Jack Gibson at UVA. One of his tenets was "The client does not understand their own problem." The problem definition section in that link is pretty similar. @BoydStephenSmithJr We are several years into seeing prominent signs at Chevron gas pumps blaming politicians and taxes for the “high” gas prices in California. These signs make me see red. We “suffer” these high prices because of politicians, not the greed of the oil companies. Assholes.

@wchr@mastodon.social - Ten years ago I was working for a company that built a recommendation engine. After you made your selection we gave you a page with a unique url. On each page were 9 recs each with a unique URL related to the search and the rec. We tracked which rec you clicked on. In testing, it seemed as if we were double counting. Turns out, in less than 10 seconds after you clicked the link, we got the same request from Google Bot. Snatched out out the ether, they were.
