Last night I had the opportunity to get upset over something someone close to me said.

I felt my ego rise, and recognized it. "There you are ego." I said to myself. "You're going to be okay. This will pass."

And as I felt it rise, I watched it and gave comfort. "This wont last long." I thought. "Watch it, and let it go." I reminded my ego.

And over a few minutes, I felt calm. I recognized the intent of the other person, looking past their words, and I practiced empathy.

Be kind to yourself.

The girlfriend wants to go out for lunch and she wants me to pick the place, but there's nothing that I'm craving so all of the places have the same standing in my head. Which leads to me not making any choice at all.

I know there's a 2022 documentary that I want to watch called "Crows are white" that looks interesting. (it's about Buddhist monks, not crows. Sorry.)

There's no way I'd ever get on a cruise ship. I've said for years that they are floating petri dishes just waiting for an outbreak. I firmly believe that if there is ever a zombie apocalypse, it wont start in a lab somewhere. It'll be because Beaufort sneezed too hard on the buffet and the ship doctor fell overboard. It'll just steamroll from there.

If you follow any hashtags you're going to notice people using those hashtags to promote things that have very little to do with the intent of the hashtag.

Some see this as an annoyance. I see it as the slow unveiling of a public mute/block list.

If you think empathy is only deserved for people you agree with, I question if you understand what empathy is?

Did you choose every moment that has shaped you? Did you choose your genetics. Your parents? Did you choose how you were raised and the comfort you were denied or given?

You can hold those who do wrong accountable and still have empathy for them.

All of our choices are the results of unseen causes and conditions. Once you understand this, empathy becomes unburdened.

One size, does not fit all.

It's been an issue since I was a teen. 90% of hats don't fit my huge noggin. And the ones that I find that do, usually cost 2 to 3 times the amount of a normal hat.

And since I'm growing a wizard beard and hair, I need a hat to keep it from going everywhere.
