I'm autistic (they called it Asperger's when I was little).
Hobbies and passions: 80s/90s PCs, local solar powered homelab + AI, THC, vinyl records, tiny shiny things, 3D printing, cooking, the Resistance, data hoarding & preservation, climate change, Hello Kitty, civil liberties, IMAX, battery energy storage, large aircraft, weather, economics.
Professional: Industrial battery energy storage pioneer, supporting PJM grid stability via data center interconnections.
I'm a Windows 10 girl and I'm not switching to Linux (yet).
An update on my triple 2080ti on DDR3 local solar powered AI server. It's impressive for its age and the fact that I built it for $700 plus a bunch of old crap. Combined forces of older hardware works!
I've got Hermes Agent running, the LLM is Qwen3.6-35B. Hermes has read-only access to my Google Workspace (for good reason!).
The LLM can push 550w+ across the 3x 2080ti GPUs. 33GB of VRAM allows big model and big context - Home Assistant works so nicely with a big LLM.
I want to drop in a Xeon E5-1680 v2 CPU, but that's about it for hardware.

Local solar powered AI server build log:
07-06-2026: Assembled the core components for the first time. Had to update BIOS to make the 2080 ti work in this old board. Waiting for a couple odds and ends to arrive tomorrow, then I can button it up and begin the software work.

Yesterday evening at roughly 5pm, a monster wind event hit our house. The power went out. Then it flashed on and off around 10 times, as I ran as fast as I could to the breaker panel to kill the main breaker before things got damaged. (if you watch the flood light in the video, you can see this on-off cycling.) Shortly after, we switched to batteries and ran for around 5 hours without incident.
You know one of the reasons I'm a Windows 10 girl? Dependencies. Doesn't happen often on Win for some reason that something won't run because some mysterious package is missing. Run EXE, it works (usually).
PSA: For those roasting in Europe.... sustainable air conditioning is the answer. Yes, USA and China and such caused the mess for you. But please get over yourselves and adopt some A/C. It can be done effectively:
- Balcony solar of ~900w (2-3 panels)
- Inverter based window AC unit
- A small battery unit as a buffer for clouds, etc
These small window units only draw around 350w or so. They can run directly off a small balcony solar setup; after all, you really only need it when the sun is shining strong!
These are my backup emergency A/Cs. Yes, I have high efficiency central and mini-split units, but if the grid fails (or the central unit itself) in 110f, I can pop these in and let the SUN keep me COOL for FREE.
Don't shoot the messenger!
