Blocking the basement with my projects :neofox_blush_hide:. It's bad lighting but I've got all the colores done
I still need to seal 🦭 it and assemble it again. It feels like it's going to turn out great.
I wanted to know how fast my sewing mashine is going. So I am currently trying to mod my mashine with a light barier.
I still have not completely figured out the mounting dimensions but it seams like it can work
#askfedi Hiii, I'm trying to reverse engineer a PCB. But doing this by hand with a pen and paper is not working out. Does anyone know of any good free tools to help me trace both sides and somehow end up with a shematic?
I'd love to be able to inject signals with a ESP to remote control the system makeing my old soap dispenser into a plant watering system.
My new laser printer is working.
The Power LED was a bit to bright though. So i decided to fix that.
And just a bit of reverse engineering and crappy soldering (i need a good iron soon) later i reduced the Brightness by just adding a Resistor.
Now it won't annoy me at night as much anymore 😺.
First of all sorry for the many comments...
You mention charging issues and the blown Resistor is close to the "CN3303" (might be https://www.lcsc.com/product-detail/C3034873.html ) I found an English Datasheet for that
https://make.net.za/wp-content/datasheets/Consonance%20Elec%20CN3303%20Datasheet%20v2.1.pdf
From the Charging issue as well as the seamingly larger footprint than the other resistors, I would assume you blew a Sensing Resistor. Could be "R_{CS}" Page 2 Figure 2.
Would also make sense as its close to the SOT23-3 "A07T" search results show that it could be a PMOS, and close/connected to a big coil "L2"
I hope this helps 🙈 to figure out what value the resistor should have had.
Sounds like you would need to do some partial reverse engineering then.
Is the marking on the blown resistor still readable?
If not I think you would need to figure out what it's purpose was. Then you could check the reference design for the corresponding IC.
Sometimes you need to build a PCB just to test the IC. This time i wanted to find a cheep Stepper driver for a project. But since I'm working based on a translated Datasheet, I needed tests...
So here is my HTD9810 stepper board. I reflow soldered it and got it working. 🎉
Now i just need to figure out what to do with the, luckily not needed, other boards. 🤔
Just thought of another possibility. Maybe you'll find somebody online who already disassembled it. Like a teardown where you could check and see if it's the same PCB.
@mxshift@social.treehouse.systems That's an interesting Workshop, Thanks for the link.
Especially the searching of the Chip marking was something i did not think of.
