So now I need to move my #homelab. And I have two options:

  1. Migrate #Mastodon reverse proxy from #nginx to #caddy (no documentation on this around the internet except uncertain assumptions).
  2. Pay x4 for the internet for a business plan, where I’ll be able to rent more than one static IP.

So the question is do you, dear #mastoadmin, have a working example of Caddy config for Mastodon?

Reposting this because I got :runbsd: #RunBSD stickers at #EuroBSDcon2026 and can now illustrate the post with a proper image :D Also updated the temperatures screenshot. So that's basically how much watts are #NetBSD and #OpenBSD using by default on this AOOSTAR WTR Pro NAS machine and how to have #FreeBSD use less watts as possible while still operating Jail and #bhyve services. https://www.tumfatig.net/2026/overview-of-aoostar-wtr-pro-on-bsd/ #selfhost #homelab

This aimed to be a simple :runbsd: #RunBSD post about the AOOSTAR WTR Pro NAS system. But it ended being nearly a "Tune #FreeBSD for power consumption" one :p Anyway, I very like this tiny #HomeServer. And it fits wells in my #HomeLab closet. https://www.tumfatig.net/2026/overview-of-aoostar-wtr-pro-on-bsd/ #OpenBSD #NetBSD #SelfHost

Because I notice an uptick in posts about buying used/refurbished mini-PCs in these times of exploding prices for hardware, here is a link to my cute homelab, explaining how I use several of these and have them working and looking nice :) https://jan.wildeboer.net/2025/05/Cute-Homelab/ 1/3 #Homelab #Selfhost

My Cute Homelab (updated)

As I experiment a lot with open source solutions, I am always in need of a bit of compute power to run stuff on. Nowadays, with containers and automation through CI/CD, that has become a lot simpler compared to, say, 5-10 years ago. You just need a few simple, but powerful enough machines, a bit of networking and you can play around. So. Let me explain my current homelab setup. Updated 2025-07-21.

This is funny, because Google is known to be very rigorous with self hosted mail servers that are often blocked or rejected for, at times, weird reasons. I would expect them to be able to shut down the spammers that use their infrastructure :) #SysAdminLife #MailAdmin #Selfhost @homelab@fedigroups.social
