Kind of an insane longshot but what the heck...

Manitoba Habitat Conservancy is hosting a VERY limited tour of Pat Healey's properties in the Tiger Mountains/Prairie Lakes area. I think only 8 spots are left.

Healey was a scientist, naturalist and gardener who left his land to MHC. He threaded gardens through a wonderfully conserved forest just a few kilometres east of Pelican Lake.

@jeffowski My N=1 experience as the owner & head trainer of a fitness centre for 20 years supports this position. The vast majority of my adult clients had unpleasant memories of PE. More than one referred to it as "torture." I loved PE & organized sport - even competed at a high level for over a decade - but I could not ignore what my clients told me. My position now is that sport does not confer good health. Large military studies have shown that the majority of lost workhours are from sports programs. PE could & should help individuals refine what fitness values they have and then help guide them to develop personal plans that agree with those values. There is no fitness ideal. One is free to determine what exactly they want to be fit for.

Or - we could keep the tax on fossil fuels and just get everyone to slow down to 90 kph - same savings to consumers, less fuel consumed and government still gets some money...

@PamelaBarroway @greene Ditto. My Dad got polio in the 30s and was one of the few from his ward that survived. Months of recovery & rehab allowed him to walk feebly with a cane. I can understand hesitancy when a treatment is in its earliest stages of use. But denial & disinformation - gobsmacked...
