I'm so pleased that #mosstodon exists. I'm not the only person who takes photos of random mossy logs, rocks and walls!

Here is a random mossy rock from 5 years ago, that I took a picture of because I loved how feathery it was and how the rain made it look so very, very green:

@Arr0w_root@free.gluten.space It's apparently down to how hormones interact with dopamine/serotonin: hormone changes can make adhd symptoms worse, which means some people with adhd actually start to notice their symptoms for the first time at menopause. I don't know whether the increased severity is permanent. (This was a really useful explainer: https://www.balance-menopause.com/menopause-library/adhd-and-the-perimenopause-and-menopause-booklet/) I occasionally hyperfocus. I looked at the symptoms and thought 'that could be me', but not 'that's definitely me'.

I don't know what I expected my 40s to be like.

I do know that sitting here googling 'can menopause make adhd show up for the first time' because I am *yet again* completely incapable of focusing on a college assignment (or work) without my mind wandering off to focus on something else, was not it.

And it turns out the answer is yes, it can.
