For #ISACACommunITyDay, the Portland chapter made birthday kits and then delivered these to local pantries, schools, and food banks.

The kit contains cake mix, frosting, and sprinkles to make the cake. Two birthday cards, a streamer, room decorations, part balloons, and a tablecloth are also all included.

@peter@thepit.social I wouldn't blame it on the use of LLMs. The billionaires' promotion of dis-investing in education -especially in states like Texas- goes back way before 2022.

From my pi-hole, here is some interesting trend. On the top, red means blocked, and from the hours of 4-7a, there's an 83% averaged of DNS queries blocked. At the same time period, avg. 92% of queries are coming from a single #Android device.

You're welcome to guess whether that's from the #cybersecurity professional or his partner's phone...

Defenders think in lists, but attackers think in graphs. I’ve brought that power to my Human 3.0 project by building a Substrate skill for PAI. It turns raw info into a connected web of insights automatically.

See it here: https://the15thstandard.com/blog/incorporating-substrate-into-my-human-3-0-project/ #AI #Data #framework

How are you connecting the dots in your data?

Continuing with the AI assistant project, we add a key information source:
If you’ve never used it, Zotero (https://www.zotero.org) is an awesome little research assistant, allowing you to capture reference material and full bibliographic information. A new plugin has been released adding MCP server support so you can easily incorporate all that painstakingly-collected information into workflows.

Check the quick overview: https://the15thstandard.com/blog/use-generative-ai-with-your-zotero-document-collections/

I know some people aren't going to like this and either respond negatively or block, which is fine. I debated posting these, which are really notes turned into posts about the month I spent diving into agentic frameworks or multi-agent harnesses or 10xtown or whatever people are calling it this week in order to really understand what a lot of people are spending a lot of time in.

There were successes, there were frustrations, but all in all, it was interesting, and all with the idea of making it more personal, rather than a disembodied chat window. More success than not, I'd say.

The pace of AI development is moving faster than most can track, it’s difficult to know what to use, and while everyone understands a chat interface, I think a lot of people are getting left behind w/r/t the emergent multi-agent workflow systems. To navigate this transition, I have started a new project exploring the Human 3.0 framework.

Human 3.0 is a philosophy developed by Daniel Miessler that focuses on a human-first approach to technology. In my post, I layout a proposed journey of moving beyond chatbox limitations to a more robust, agentic workflow.

Key highlights from the post include:

  • The transition from basic local LLMs to multi-agent orchestration using OpenCode.
  • An introduction to the Personal AI Assistant (PAI) and how it serves as the core of this ecosystem.
  • My personal philosophy on avoiding "Serf 3.0"—the risk of becoming entirely dependent on costly, proprietary subscriptions that can change at any time.
  • How tools like Fabric, Telos, and Substrate fit into a cohesive personal infrastructure.

Read the full breakdown of the project and the technology behind it on my site:

@DoctorDeathray@retro.social a while back, someone posted a cool distro that basically turned your PC into a word processor. It was super limited and meant to focus on writing. I can't remember the name of it, but suspect it would work on an old Intel Mac. I think you could extend it to playing mp3s and such.

Why settle for one AI model when you can build a specialized army? In this project, I've been testing hybrid setups in my personal AI assistant setup in order to balance local privacy with cloud power. With the advent of the latest capable open models, It is a great way to optimize cost and performance.

See my full hybrid configuration here: https://the15thstandard.com/blog/mixture-of-models-experiments-and-results/

Are you team local-only or hybrid? #AI  #LLM #Tool

At least as long as I exclude the photography, and shouldn't that be on a pixelfed instance? Well, maybe, I don't know. Anyway, less apologetic spam would be nice, because I think most people know they can block you or not, and if they don't, it's probably because they just want to engage and you should block them!

@westhisup@gamepad.club take a look at the compatibility pages on the Synology and Home assistant sites. Those models would, by necessity, be able to send the stream to a local system. I think the protocol is RTSP? (Not quite sure, but there are a couple different mechanisms cameras use, one even being FTP!)
