Sleep apnoeia is no fun. The risk of dying is quite obviously shit, of course. The comorbidity with snoring brings further risk (spousally induced concussion), but the massive joy killer is the constant tiredness. But gradually you realise you are now having epic, creative, extended dreams. If you concentrate you can remember them, if you practice you find you can direct your dreaming toward solving creative hurdles in your day life. The first time you murder a public figure with your dreamsword you feel guilty, and wonder if it was just coincidence. I also have a bunch of alternatives in stock leftover from reviews and projects. Finally, if you’re building a project around a raspberry pi, that’s a totally understandable starting point for a rapid prototype. My day job is helping people to make the post-prototype revision(s) cheaper and more reliable by moving to more appropriate (and economical!) hardware and firmware alternatives.
