I really like the shows from the beginning of the color television era when the set and costume designers really wanted to make you feel like you were getting your money's worth

This is who you're talking to when you're yelling at me #CatsOfMastodon

SOURCE #Magazine is a quarterly periodical with in-depth looks at interesting #OpenSource projects and applications: #FreeCAD, #KiCad, #GNURadio, #Godot, and more! Check it out and support this work!

I just nominated @FreeCAD@fosstodon.org for the #OpenSource Endowment. I think I made a pretty good albeit brief case for requesting support, but it probably wouldn't hurt to add your thoughts or even nominate another project! #FreeCAD https://endowment.dev/funding/

#OpenCASCADE releases version #OCCT 8.0.0! Big news for #FreeCAD and the world of open source #CAD https://dev.opencascade.org/content/open-cascade-technology-800-release

Whoa, I was just watching an episode of the old #LostInSpace show and saw a "Billy Mumy" as Will Robinson, just realized he's Bill Mumy who plays Lennier in #Babylon5!

#FreeCAD folks and others: in the world of #CAD modeling, you might've heard of the B-spline. Did you know there's also a T-spline, and the patent for it expired in 2024? Time to get cracking! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-spline

I've climbed the steps of a Maya pyramid and these stair angles are no joke, they definitely didn't have OSHA back then

Churrigueresque #architecture, Zacatecas #Cathedral, #Mexico

Yesterday was a bad day to randomly feel like grabbing Mexican food without having noticed the calendar, I stopped by my local place and it was nearly full with people spilling outside, a DJ and light show on the patio, and even a pair of sheriffs investigating some disturbance

It was a simpler time when you could label something "Something 2000" to suggest a technologically futuristic product

#HappyBirthday to #StreetFighter III: 3rd Strike (Fight for the Future!) Released in Japanese arcades 27 years ago, on May 12th, 1999.

A pretty sweet arrangement...

Spring dust storms today in #Illinois. I wonder if the land management practices pictured have any part in this 🧐

How am I supposed to not get sidetracked when I learn about "Steel", a #Scheme interpreter in #Rust https://github.com/mattwparas/steel

Bigger flags don't mean better patriotism... Real G's move in silence like lasagna

Until now I've never heard a house DJ attempt to incorporate samples from Pink Floyd but I gotta applaud the technical ambition

#Earthquake diplomacy: there are many fault lines between the modern nations of #Greece and #Turkey, but it turns out the literal ones are more important than the figurative ones https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek%E2%80%93Turkish_earthquake_diplomacy

You never know what you'll find in the woods

#AskFedi my dear followers and friends, could you share with me a favorite simple #vegan or #vegetarian #recipe? I'm feeling a little ambitious this weekend

#Debian should have a "color palette" as part of a visual identity in the same way #Ubuntu does. It's kind of already got the beginnings of one, just inconsistent and unofficial https://design.ubuntu.com/brand/colour-palette

v86 emulates an x86-compatible CPU and hardware in #WebAssembly with multiple demo VMs available at https://copy.sh/v86/ https://github.com/copy/v86

My first Mastodon post in a while, I thought I might try something more "real". The topic of deradicalization. Without getting into specifics, lots of people know someone who has gone off the rails, one way or another, and it's easy to feel like you want to drag them back to the real world. My worries: is this something I can even do? Does it have to be me? If I have second thoughts about safety, should I even bother? Is the person I knew just gone?

"Rockin ' Rich" has a natural +3 roll on all karaoke performance checks

Big iron on my hip

RE: @kkremitzki@mastodon.social

Y'all don't understand the natural bonus this guy has to his rolls

#Debian / #Ubuntu tip: you probably don't want:

sudo apt install linux-headers-$(uname -r)

Instead, use:

sudo apt install linux-headers-$(dpkg --print-architecture)
