🚨 ALERT 🚨 for all #FOSS projects out there which get donations via PayPal. In the last 2 days we've gotten several donations (some as "purchase") ranging from 250 → 500 USD. Always same amount as USD (which was suspicious since we rarely get USD). The trick of the cheaters: They will open a "Paypal Buyers protection" case and if you just send back the money rather than "cancelling" the real transaction, they will get the money twice... Suggestion: Mark it as fraud and let Paypal resolve it.

The team behind DAVx⁵ has grown once again! 😄

We're super happy that no less than @cketti@social.int21.dev has joined us and will be working on DAVx⁵ in the future. Some might know him already because he was the main developer on @k9mail@fosstodon.org / @thunderbird@mastodon.online for Android in the past. 🎉

Once our main refactoring work is done we're focusing on some cool and very useful features again. Some of them we've had in mind (and were requested by users) for ages 😁 It will be a fantastic year for being a DAVx⁵ user!

@JonathanTreffler@gruene.social @nextcloud@mastodon.xyz This has nothing to do with Nextpush. It can be activated independently to push your contacts calendars and tasks to be received by DAVx5. Just install the davpush app on Nextcloud, then refresh calendars/ address books in DAvx5 and select the UnifiedPush provider you want in the DAVx5 settings at the bottom.

We are developing a PUSH standard for WebDAV, CalDAV and CardDAV! It's a big task - one of the biggest we ever had. At the end it will benefit the whole Open *DAV ecosystem.

We've kicked off this project at Nextcloud Conf this year a few weeks ago and Sunik had a quick overview talk about that. Re-Watch it here:

While DAVx⁵ is a client-server sync tool we often get questions if there is a possibility to sync in server to server. We had a nice talk today with the creator @whynothugo@fosstodon.org from pimsync who does work on a tool that does exactly that.

The first thing you would need is a lawyer and send them the official response and your sights. But at the end you will always be the weaker party (=less money). They will argue that you're free riding, using Whatsapp to make your own "business" ("your app wouldn't exist if there was no Whatsapp"). IMO u can only survive by removing any WA reference from text and images..

@strk@floss.social @menel you can use any unified push provider. ntfy would work perfectly. Install the NC extension dav_push then set ntfy as push provider in davx5 settings at the very bottom. After that you can check status in a caldav/carddav collection in DAVx5 in the details view.
