LispBM is "a Lisp or Scheme-like programming language for microcontrollers" which also runs on WebAssembly and desktop systems such as Linux. It features a graphics library and other extensions.

I've been working through the memory requirements of Skate, my Scheme compiler for Z80/CP/M. We have to fit the program, its data and runtime support into 64 KiB, with operating system taking some of that space too.
Closures and automatic memory management make for an expressive way to program and making that practical on an eight-bit machine is a challenge I think is worth pursuing.

Tripled my #scheme code's speed threefold by switching from alists to hash-maps (SRFI-69). It feels like I committed a grave crime against the spirit of the language (the performance boost is nice tho).
Presenting the "Grothenstick"!
It is my representation of a scheme (in algebraic geometry). The stick is the Zariski topology. It is a crude approximation of the real thing. But it is good enough to carry a sheaf of rings. And adorned with its sheaf of rings, it looks quite reasonable. In fact, when you get used to it, you no longer see the underlying stick; you just see the rings!

Apropos of nothing: Big thanks to Shiro Kawai for creating Gauche Scheme, which so far has been one of the best Scheme implementations I have used. It has worked well on every computer I have tried it on so far ({Linux, FreeBSD, MacOS} x {x86_64, i386, aarch64}). It is stable, very fast, and supports a large number of the more recent SRFIs (Scheme language extensions), it has very good compatibility with the R7RS language standard, and the Gauche REPL gosh is pretty easy to use as well.
I always run the REPL in R7RS mode, so gosh -r7 -I. -i . Scheme people, give it a try sometime if you haven’t already!

@screwlisp@gamerplus.org @kentpitman@climatejustice.social I’m just reading up on the MIT-Scheme condition system. Recent efforts to standardize this are defined in SRFI-255: “Restarting conditions”.
An older standards condition systems in Scheme was defined in SRFI-35: “Conditions”. And #Guile users can use the Guile implementation of SRFI-35 to make use of it.
I wish I had known about this two weeks ago when we first started talking about it on the #LispyGopherClimate show, but better late than never, I guess.

Well then, please have a listen to the episodes of the #LispyGopherClimate podcast that me, @kentpitman@climatejustice.social and @screwlisp@gamerplus.org did these past few weeks:
