I have performed the deliberately slow and difficult procedure and I'm ready for FDroid 2.0 on my daily driver.
On a 2nd phone, I've had GrapheneOS going for several months, and I've tested my critical apps over there, obtained via Fdroid and Aurora app store that front-ends play store. A few commercial apps, like Costco and Canadian Tire app didn't work well the last time I tried, but I can just use a browser instead.
I am ready.

Mr. Fink of Blackrock is in Toronto today where Carney will sell him a bunch of Canadian sovereignty

@nolan@microsh.art Nvidia and the usual Blackrock suspects have put together a financial instrument which bundles microchips as an investible asset, like property or facilities, and is using it to raise 500 billion dollars, primarily 3rd party capital, ie, your ira fund.
The person who put the instrument together, the CEO of Blackrock is Mr Fink (my hand to Bob, I didn’t make it up), and Mr fink is who designed the subprime mortgage instrument that crashed the market in 2008.

@aram@aoir.social the one ingredient is matter/energy/information, which are equivalent and transformable. The recipe takes over 6h because it involves a lot of gluons and entropy.

One of my clients now requires internal registration for all use of non-internal AI, and VP-level approval for Claude, ChatGPT etc.
VP-approval is basically a death sentence, the message is "we don't want you to use this".
They don't want to be liable for its mistakes that impact real world, heavily regulated business operations. They have no PR cover if the shit fans, the public already mostly hates them, and the govt could score points with the public spanking them around.

@datum@zeroes.ca yep. And the most recent pipeline is non-economic. Even when the federal govt. took on the $40B financing risk, when it came to set the usage tariffs, they were set far below what is necessary to pay back the $40B over 50 years. So Canadians pay to extract the oil at a loss, pay to export it at a loss, and yet when it comes to us buying fossil fuels...we pay "full global market price".

@jasongorman@mstdn.business pretty good evidence of a strongly negative effect on senior resources as the volume of junior-created problems spikes when they use AI.
A senior resource at one of my clients needed to adapt a set of 5 config files. Copy, change 2 values in each. 2 minute task. He used Claude and it mangled the piss out of them.

@mykl@infosec.exchange fun fact, many points along the eastern edges of James Bay burn about every 30 years. Overlaid GIS forest fire boundary maps going back that far cover the complete area. Most fires don't actually kill all the trees.

Homey really came through with the abandoned hardware for r730xd "Manousos"
Stack of 12x16GB DDR4 2400, to increase total RAM to 256GB. And a pile of old drives, some useful, some not.
10TB SAS 3.5
2x1.1TB SAS 10k 2.5
1x500MB SAS 15k 2.5
Bunch of 300MB SAS 2.5's that won't be useful.
And dumpster diving location tips.

@hewer_of_code@mstdn.ca keep wasting time emailing me, calling me. Visit my door. Hear my lies of support. Of course I will need a ride to the polls. The campaign volunteers dutifully enter it into the PC voter info database. A van arrives on polling day. I jog out and take a spot among the elderly passengers, privately casting my NDP vote at the polls. Of course I wait for the ride home after.

@bruce@darkmoon.social casualties aren't always fatalities, more of a measure of fighting capability. So if foot blisters reduce capability to fight by 50%, that's a 0.5

@hewer_of_code@mstdn.ca those are as much to identify non-supporters as supporters/donaters. If you are identified as a non-supporter, then they won't waste any effort trying to reach or convince you, making their campaign more efficient and focused on getting their existing base to show up and vote.
I don't want to improve their campaign efficiency, so I respond yes. Even though the chances of me supporting the PCs is nil, I don't want the PCs to know that, until it's too late on election night.
