This is exactly my point as well. The EU has done some great things in digital privacy laws and yet they still want to do dumb shit. I am appaled with the issues with CSAM and I agree something needs to be done. I also agree with the deplorable ways in which social media has infected society - howver, the answer is not to destroy privacy.

I have the same thing happening to me. I get utility bill notices from someone who lives on the other side of the US. I am almost ready to cancel my Gmail account. I have been working on eliminating it on accounts for a year and am basically done. Goodbye Gmail. Goodbye Google. Good riddance

I argue about this ALL the f’ing time. Ours expire every 90 days, which by the way was the general guidance prior to 2015. Now every major cybersecurity expert says don’t force random changes, make them really strong and hold onto them. Guess our IT department is a bit behind on their best practices.

I share concerns over Microsoft’s integration of copilot into their computers. As an enterprise network administrator there are serious security implications. At the same time I am a robust user of AI and it has greatly improved many of my workflows. What I am against is stuffing AI into every consumer appliance and telling people it is no big deal. I want to choose when and how I use AI and I don’t want my tv to start the computer uprising.
