If anyone here has an #anritsu MS269x series Signal Analyzer, I need one file from the C: drive. The "C:\Program Files\Anritsu Corporation\Signal Analyzer\Applications\PanelKey.xml" file contains the mapping for the rubber key pad in the front. Someone deleted the contents of this file on my unit and the keyboard does not work. Can someone help and share the original file contents?

@ret@furry.engineer @30p87@chaos.social @anselmschueler@ieji.de @davidgerard@circumstances.run Would you guys be for adding a systemd userdb fields for gender, race, political pereferences and sexual orientation? There is currently no reason to store this data them, but surely nothing bad can happen. Maybe some day it will be useful! :)

@RueNahcMohr@infosec.exchange this is the resistive version, they also make capacitive screen ones but the resistive is better IMO

@ftg@mastodon.radio I am curious what led to this action being taken. and its not deleted, it was replaced with 17kB of space characters :-D

@azonenberg@ioc.exchange @ftg@mastodon.radio Very peculiar since the NTFS was healthy and the file was filled with 0x20's and not random data

@rasteri@mastodon.scot it is kinda amazing to see there is still so much legacy industrial hardware left that it's affordable to manufacture new CGA cards (and how cost effective they are now thanks to CPLDs)

@netspooky@haunted.computer my current printer is a HP laserjet 1011 that I hastily bought a year ago on local classifieds, becauase I had to print something for the next day. I paid $20 and I met the guy at 10pm that day. It still works. The drivers suck but the consumables for that model are the cheapest on the market. I'm not getting any HP wifi connected printer ever. Considering making a network print server, but I cant find linux drivers for it...

I've been making small HF transformers and I'm quite happy that the results matched the expected value pretty close once I used a proper HF core and calibrated the VNAs

@patryk@social.hackerspace.pl interesting. A certain retail operating system runs FlexOS inside a Wind River linux container. Its so funny to see an xterm pop-up on top of the default full-screen console window that I spawned from my backdoor dropbear shell.

@sendpaws openwrt community is amazing at times, i asked one question and mentioned the wireless nic I was toying with, i got called "malicious" and that "my neighbours will thank me for not using it" because the NIC was some old 802.11b realtek
funniest part: it was running in monitor mode, so not a single packet was transmitted

Some wasted time trying to cross-build the linux-gpib subsystem for OpenWRT. It seems its difficult to cross compile if not impossible, the only small enough computer I had is a mini-itx via C3 motherboard. I was planning to boot Debian on it but they stopped providing 32 bit installer images

@CppGuy@infosec.space this seems to affect a lot of GLib stuff, including Atril and GIMP

I installed wxMaxima on the aarch workstation. For some reason all glib applications take a very long time to start and im not sure how to debug it.

@CppGuy@infosec.space Ive ran it in gdb previously, forgot about strace. strace shows it hanging on a 24-sec timeout ppoll and gdb shows the backtrace comes from glib's main loop

I guess I should write an #introduction - im a 26 year old engineer, I usually mess around with electronics gear, including RF, and unusual computers. I repair them and try to make them do useful things. Sometimes I deal with older software as well so it's a bit of #retrocomputing.
I do programming a lot so expect this type of content too.
I'm happy to make new friends and chat about whatever, feel free to hit me up!

Buzzing noise and faulty vertical generator. The line moves up and down so the HV circuit probably works, and I can hear the flyback too. Maybe it will be an easy repair?

@CppGuy@infosec.space nothing in particular. The poll that stalls is for fd=6 which is:
socket(AF_UNIX, SOCK_STREAM|SOCK_CLOEXEC, 0) = 6
connect(6, {sa_family=AF_UNIX, sun_path="/run/user/1000/at-spi/bus"}, 27) = 0

@zero@strelizia.net Look at that subtle blurry edges, the tasteful thickness of it. Oh my god, it even has Perlin noise in the middle.
