After testing the circuit, Rue carefully documented it on social media, then you read it!

Todays new term folks, "floorloss", When you fumble a part, and *just* before it hits the floor, a pixie swoops in and carries it away, leaving you looking for hours all over the floor for it like a fool.

@stuartl@mastodon.longlandclan.id.au wut, something doesn't add up, what voltage are the LEDS in this panel? Are you scanning it? Are you using driver chips? if so, which ones?

SWITCHES!!!
These are two stage switches for robots.
first position is off
second position is controller power
3rd position is controllers and motors.

The PCB shall use the unapproved hot-snot to hold it in place. and its complete! It has serious disco vibes...

*The correct installation of pin headers on a chipHawk*
One day I'm gonna run out of these little things and be sad. Hopefully a PCB order arrives before then and the sadness will be postponed.

ok, so I ended up with this on my first journey, its not awesome but curious as it uses an SCR relaxation oscillator. I thought it would take a wide voltage range but its really narrow.

This is the cable drum for the fingers. Using it is, not too straightforward...

TINY 7 segment displays an some led blocks.
SOIC16 for scale, these 2 digit 7 segment displays are really little! they are 5 pin, charlieplexed! first charlieplexed product I have ever bought. so, sadly I cant hard-wire it to say anyting.
The blocks are for putting masks on for things like "12V"

OMG my estimate of this being a 1990's camera just got blown back to 1965. I have not seen anything built like this in ages.
oh no, the motors are 3 wire, I hope their not 3 phase servos!

that wire goes over here, and that one goes here, and that one goes over there, and we change this signal to that, remove these wires over here....

😅 I tried to upgrade the debian OS on my main shop workstation and it got completely screwed up. I have to reinstall it completely.... *sigh*

OOoo more block LEDs!
I put those origional ones on the left so you can compare size, The idea is I laser print onto transparencies for the thing I want to indicate, with a bit of a tinted window this works great.

52 robots in 52 weeks,
This weeks goal is to get a motor attached to the gripper. The gripper is cable driven for weight balance.

My plan is to just kinda glue this board in here, like that. There is not really much safe space in this thing.

:S well THATS not right....
And yes, the capacitor tester confirmed there is only a few coincidental pf between the leads....
ok, so I'm not sure I have a non-polar cap for this. I need to keep myself from building a custom little VFD for this... cause it would be easy...
Just a microcontroller generating two sine wave via pwm and a class D amplifier with an output filter....

And here is a good reason to not use corrugated cardboard for this, challenges with fine details. This doesn't really matter, this cardboard is just support for the paper that has the printed pattern.

@gloriouscow@oldbytes.space You walk into a room, infront of you is a table labeled "Explore" with multiple bins on it, each labeled. The labels are:
"mirrors"
"rubber bands"
"legos"
"photos"
"CDs"
"tape"
"USB cords"
"misc"
What bin do you find the most interest in?

This is *NOT* the way to strap these. Instead, solder one side to the pcb, and solder the other side while pulling on it with needlenose pliers. Then it will come out properly tight.

One of the things I have learned is to not just use water based glue on paper based decals, it causes them to wrinkle, and they dont unwrinkle. I have some strange "white glue" from the dollar store that does not seem to be water based, and isn't white, its clear...

no, this isn't right, there is enough room on the back of this to fit 3 555 circuits, ugh, what do I do with this.
