#3GoodThings Man, I hate #Facebook (for so many reasons), but I'll grudgingly admit the Marketplace is effective for me. I posted the 10yo's old bike yesterday and had a buyer about 4 hours later. Speaking of the 10yo, he's BACK from almost a month at overnight camp. I missed that kid. Top priority for the 10yo upon arriving back in civilization was seeing Spider-Man: Brand New Day. It was a ton of fun! Jon Bernthal as Punisher was the best part for me. #MCU #movies #SpiderMan @3goodthings@a.gup.pe

#3GoodThings After much stress, planning, and way too much money, the 13yo's bar mitzvah was a monstrous success. His service was perfect, the party was lit, and we caught up with family we haven't seen in a very long time. Swiss style Raclette from Baked Cheese Haus at the Evanston Farmers Market. https://bakedcheesehaus.com/about/ Spotted a rainbow! 🌈 @3goodthings@a.gup.pe#Mazeldon #Food

@cmconseils Also, let me look at the menu without having to start an order. One click. Not difficult.

#3GoodThings My cousin who I have not seen in years was in town, so we caught up over an extended lunch at South Branch in #Chicago. Food was great,; company was better. I organized a volunteer day with my team from work at Bernie's Book Bank. It was a lot of fun and felt like for a few hours, we made a difference. Speaking of #books, I'm super excited for a couple due out this year by fave authors: Exit Party by #EmilyStJohnMandel and Other Worlds Than These by #StephenKing. @3goodthings@a.gup.pe

@paninid@mastodon.world "This isn't a fluke." I see what you did there. 🤣

@GreatBigTable@mastodon.social @JonBaker@mastodon.social Seconded

@kimlockhartga@beige.party I will consider myself duly warned! Thank you. 👍

@kimlockhartga@beige.party Only Good Indians has been on my TBR for a while. I can't remember if I haven't read it because of a lack of availability or because I feel like I need to be in the right frame of mind.

@kimlockhartga@beige.party It doesn't happen too often, but occasionally I'll put books on hold at my library if they're not available (more frequently, I'll just move on to something else that's on my TBR). Sometimes I'm aware when the book is ready that it came from another location, but it's not something I focus on. I'm just happy that the book is available.

@nuthatch When my wife and I were dating, we loved going to the movies. We'd show up to the theater 10-20 minutes before the posted showtime to make sure we got decent seats. How times have changed! Now we don't even think about seeing a movie without selecting our seats in advance. Did you like PHM? I thought it was a rare case of the movie being better than the book (I did not like the book), and was very glad I saw it on the big screen. My subpar home theater would not have done it justice.

@nuthatch Oh for sure. Before kids, we'd go to the movies a couple times per month. Now we go maybe a hall dozen times in a year and those are usually video game or Marvel vehicles.

@JuliusGoat The soundtrack/score is underrated. I love how this movie is like a snapshot of loneliness. Time seems to stop for Ray and Charlie while the rest of the world carries on around them.

@Realist_NBG@nerdculture.de I feel like that also happened a week or two ago at another race. Focus, people! 😂

@elliek@zeroes.ca 😞 Sorry. I bet if you just search "nathan martin la marathon" you'll be able to pull up a clip. Closing the way he did is just bonkers.

@nocto@social.lol Probably. Still, I thought the book was quite good.

@nocto@social.lol The description reminds me a bit of The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, another book about trekking across England. Definitely worth picking up. 👍

@GregArcus@mastodon.world @grumpasaurus@infosec.exchange @chris@mastodon.chriswiegman.com Hey, I resemble that comment. 🤣

@blherrou@toot.monster Hey, two out of three ain't bad. 😉

@webhat@infosec.exchange Boosted for reach. There is no logic to this kind of attachment. It's just a form of love, and that doesn't have to make sense. My 9yo has a stuffed dog named Skip It that he got during the early days of COVID lockdown. Under no circumstances does he go to bed without Skip It, and I've seen the desperation - "Where's Skip It?!?" - if he gets buried in the sheets or falls out of the bed.

@steamedcarrot I love this. I hope I can do something like this someday.

@ICDURCALI@mastodon.sdf.org @mastodonmigration@mastodon.online Hashtags are your friend. Use them liberally and add them to your profile. You'll find your people soon enough. Or your people will find you. 😉

@mastodonmigration@mastodon.online It's so fun seeing all the fresh new accounts finding out that there's actually a social network that is free from bots, algorithms, and thin-skinned billionaire owners. #twitterexodus #twittermigration

@AnneTheWriter@mstdn.party @ICDURCALI@mastodon.sdf.org @mastodonmigration@mastodon.online I'm trying to remember if I've had issues with that. Maybe it depends on the app you're using? 🤔 I do know that in general, if a hashtag has more than one word, we should separate them out with caps. This helps the visually impaired who use screen readers. Thanks for the feedback. #OxfordComma FTW!

@AnneTheWriter@mstdn.party @ICDURCALI@mastodon.sdf.org @mastodonmigration@mastodon.online I've been enjoying the Tusky app. 😎

@geonz @indivisibleteam There have been "signs" for a while. Looks like whether it actually happens is still TBD. https://www.chicagotribune.com/2026/04/28/cps-ctu-may-day-what-to-know/

@nixCraft@mastodon.social I feel seen.

@james@mementomori.social Thanks for sharing this. I was rooting for Patrick.
